Why Do People Have Pets?
Why Do People Have Pets? Many people have pets simply because they grew up with pets and they are used to having animals in the house. Of course, the main reasons why people tend...
When my son was born 13 years ago, we had a dog. A dog named Buckley. Buckley was a Brittany Spaniel rescue that I fell in love with upon first seeing him on the rescue website. When I brought my newborn son home, Buckley sat at the bottom of his crib at all times…always on guard. We hope that you enjoy this Wholehearted Dog Food post. Buckley was family. Buckley was a true companion to all three of my children through their early childhood and we did everything we could to be good pet owners. And sadly, at the ripe age of 13, Buckley succumbed to cancer. It was several years before we were ready to even think about another dog. How do you even begin to replace a family member? You can't. But several years later, we were ready to add to the family.
Enter Teddy Connerty a.k.a. Teddy the Hotdog on social media. Teddy is the most enthusiastic, sweetest but sometimes naughty dog I have ever had. He is such a great character that everyone remembers him no matter where he goes. Taffy came about six months later from a local rescue group. Now we have two long-haired dachshunds who have a personality for days and the energy to keep up with growing kids. And those two dogs; today they are as much of a part of our family as Buckley. They have become a part of our history and soul. They are seriously treated like kids.
It is for this reason that I truly care about our dogs’ well-being. Because they are family, we only want the best for them. If they are sick, we go to the doctor. If they are bored, we play. And when they are hungry…well, I care just as much about what I feed those two dogs as I do my children. That is what you do for your family.
Taffy lately has been scratching her skin a lot. This in turn has made her hair fall out on her chest and the area is red because it itches her. We knew that the first thing we needed to do was make certain that we found food with no grain for our babies. Enter Wholehearted Dog Food.
