Sparkling Navel Orange Agua Fresca

Sparkling Navel Orange Agua Fresca
We buy a lot of fresh oranges and tangerines. In fact, I probably have about 20 clementines sitting on my counter right now. When they start to get a few days old, I start looking for recipes that we all might enjoy.
Orangina is one of my favorite sparkling drinks so we decided to see what we could come up with that would taste great and be something that would appeal to the kids as well. Please note, after the kids went to bed, we added Hangar One Mandarin Vodka to it and it was AMAZING!
Fans of agua fresca will enjoy this fizzy variation on the refreshing classic. For the most ‘fizziness,’ create the navel orange mixture first as the recipe is written, then add the carbonated water by stirring it in.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 cups carbonated water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 6 large oranges, juiced
  • 1 lime, juiced

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Combine the sugar, orange juice, and lime juice in a sauce pot. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, then turn off and remove from heat.
  2. After the orange juice mixture has cooled, dived it among four glasses filled with ice.
  3. Top each glass with carbonated water as needed. Stir and serve.

  1. Oooh that does sound yummy! I’m going to have to try that. My bosses are from the UK and like fizzy drinks but, not big soda fans.

Although do you have to add so much sugar?
