Lemon Curd Trifle
By definition, a “trifle” is something “of little value or importance.” The culinary version of a trifle, however, is far more valuable. Seen in recipes since the sixteenth century, dessert trifles have long been an elegant end to a meal that is both sweet and beautiful. The best trifles are made up of at least three layers of complementary flavors and textures, and this recipe is no different. The lemon is slightly sour yet refreshingly tart, while the whipped cream provides a pleasant, delicious contrast. The wafer cookies offer a “crunch.” For best visual results, make the trifle in a clear dish where all the layers can be seen before being eaten, such as mason jars, glass bowls, or a trifle dish. - Serve immediately.
PRO TIP: Making this a limoncello trifle by adding 1 tbsp of limoncello to each trifle.
