Crafts for Kids: Spring Flowers

Spring is just around the corner. I know it doesn't feel like it for some of you though with the seemingly never-ending snow. You can still get into the Spring spirit with the kids though with this fun indoor flower craft.

I came home late from an appointment with my son one afternoon last week and my daughter had gotten a little crafty while I was gone and handed me a small bouquet of flowers that she had made for me. Later that week she made more of them and now has them displayed in a lovely vase on the bedside table.

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Using a pair of scissors cut the pipe cleaners to lengths of about 3-4 inches (depending on the size you would like the flower petals).
  2. Curve the center of each pipe cleaner and stick each end into the foam ball.
  3. Repeat until you have pretty colored petals around the entire ball.
  4. Create small flower buds but winding a colored pipe cleaner around one end of a green one.

You can attach the flower buds to flowers by winding the stem of each together (see picture below).
