Summer is so close and we cannot wait. I love the feel of a warm summer breeze, walking barefoot on the beach, berry picking and all of the summer activities that we participate in each year. There are just some things that scream summer to me and whenever I do them, I am reminded of all the things that I love about the season. We hope that you enjoy our 5 Ways to Welcome Summer post.
I am thrilled to partner with EDWARDS® Desserts this year to share with you why we love celebrating all things summer. Our post, 5 Ways to Welcome Summer shares some of our favorite tips to get in the mood for the upcoming season.
Summer seems to come a little early here in Atlanta but I don't mind the warmer weather. As soon as I step outside in the sun (after wearing SPF, of course), it begins to feel like summer so I always associate the feel of the sun with the summer season.
Get outside, fire up that grill and make some summer food faves like corn on the cob or grilled burgers. Start getting that summer grilling list ready! I know that it's going to be a good dinner when I pull into my neighborhood and I can already smell the food grilling. That smell takes me back to my childhood where my dad would grill out 4-5 days per week.
Nothing quite says summer to me like flip flops, shorts and bathing suits. It's time to get out those summer clothes while putting away jackets and other winter items. The first pair of shorts that I put on each summer always takes me back to childhood. Getting new summer clothes is such a fun thing to do.
We love berry picking in this family and we pick berries several times per year. In fact, we are heading out this weekend to pick strawberries as an extended family so I am already getting some of my favorite recipes ready like: Glazed Strawberry Donuts. Want to find a berry picking place near you? Visit PickYourOwn.org.
This year we are celebrating summer with a dessert party on our patio. EDWARDS® offers some delicious summertime flavors like: EDWARDS® Hershey's* Chocolate Crème Pie, Turtle Pie, Key Lime Pie, Lemon Meringue Pie and S'mores Pie. We picked up a Turtle Pie and my family absolutely loved it.
EDWARDS® Turtle Pie is a classic treat that is now a decadent pie with layers of chocolate and caramel sprinkled with pecans and chocolate chunks on a cookie crumb crust. Edwards Baking Company was founded in 1950 by Tom Edwards as a small retail bakeshop in Atlanta, Georgia. The brand stands for exceptional indulgences made effortless. EDWARDS® Desserts are found in grocer's freezers nationwide and are sold as whole pies and in convenient individual servings. Find EDWARDS® Desserts at a store near you.

We’ve been grilling for at least a month here. BRING ON SUMMER! It’s so short, we try to make the most of it.
We love to have our family together for cook outs, it is a great summer tradition…. And those pies, oh goodness they look amazing, yummy!
We love welcoming summer with a BBQ! These delicious Edward’s desserts would be perfect to end a meal with!
First of all the pie made me speechless 🙂 I love Summer since there are so many refreshing cold drinks to enjoy and of course the BBQ! My family loves going out in Summer, it is a short season and we’d love to make the best of it.
We’re definitely going to be doing a lot of grilling. Me made some good kebabs the other day! Picking out a good Edwards Pie sounds like a good idea!
I agree. It’s such a great dessert because you don’t have to cook it so you can focus on grilling and still have a yummy dessert.
Berry picking is always a Summer highlight- we have a farm we’ve been going to since I was 5 years old. And, of course, we keep plenty of Edwards on hand.
Nothing screams summer to me quite like summer bbq and picnics! Looks like you’ve covered all the essentials for welcoming summer!
Edwards pies are a great dessert for cookouts. You don’t have to cook them and you can focus on grilling perfectly.
I love Edwards pies! We haven’t had one in a while, so I’m thinking we deserve a treat this week.
We are going to break out the grill sometime soon here. That’s how we welcome summer around our parts. Nothing like having some good grilled food to spur those summer memories.
Wow, I had no idea that these pies are that decadent. I totally need to get one for my next after dinner, dessert.
We love to get outside and enjoy the warm weather. I will have to pick up a EDWARDS Hershey’s Chocolate Crème Pie for dessert this weekend.
We have been enjoying the warm weather. These are great ways to get outside and welcome summer. EDWARDS® Hershey’s* Chocolate Crème Pie is one of my favorites. I will have to pick up the Turtles one to try.

This pie looks so good! I love anything turtle flavored so I will definitely add this to the grocery list next week!
I have to admit, I’m probably the lone person that loves summer activities, but doesn’t like summer weather. It’s so odd. If we could have 75-78 degrees year round (except for Christmas, I NEED snow on Christmas) life would be just grand! These are GREAT ways to get into the summer season, and grilling will always be at the top of my list. Making a good pie for my family is a close second!
I am so glad the warmer weather is here. It’s nice to be able to get out for walks. I can’t wait until it’s time for berry picking.
It’s great to be able to barbecue again. Everything tastes so much better when it has been grilled.
Yes, I’m so excited for summer! My girls are done with school for summer this Friday! Only a few days left. We have some plans for the summer and we can’t wait!
Edwards Pie is one of our FAVORITE Summer treats – cool and yummy and mom doesn’t have to bake! PS I’m waiting for the sunshine to feel like summer but it’s been raining here FOREVER

Summer is such an exciting time of year! Can’t wait to do some of these things to welcome it. Berry picking is such a fun thing to do with the kids.
With just 6 days left of school, we are so ready to welcome summer with open arms! I can not wait for plenty of sun, swimming and scrumptious food.

These are all great ways to welcome summer. We have grilled out the past couple of weekends. I need to pick up a couple of pies for dessert this weekend.

These all work for me. My favorite thing is berry picking – strawberries and blueberries. Sometimes we find wild blackberries.
