Strapless
A strapless top or dress is very versatile and is great for wearing just about any type of necklace. Whether you want to wear a choker necklace or a long dangling necklace, either will look great with a strapless dress. The only type of necklace I would avoid wearing with a strapless top would be one that sits right at the same length of where the top is.
V-Neck
Chances are if you are wearing a V-neck top you are attempting to show off that cleavage and you are probably comfortable with it. To pair with your v-neck you will want a longer necklace that compliments this type of neckline. I would recommend a medium-length necklace, you'll want it to stop just above where the cut ends rather than it being so long that it goes down into that dip.
Sweetheart
If you don't know what a sweetheart neckline is it is very similar to a strapless top but rather than it just being a straight across cut, it dips down a bit in the middle and is more rounded on either side. With a sweetheart neckline, you'll want to leave the focus on the cut of your top but if you still want to add a little something, you could do a basic choker necklace.
Scoop Neck
A scoop neckline is another one that is extremely versatile and with this one, you can wear really any type of necklace you want. Anything will look great with this sort of top whether you want to wear a choker, a basic length necklace, or even a long dangling necklace.
Halter Top
If you are wearing a halter top you already have your straps tied behind your neck so adding a necklace to this would just make it a little over the top. I would recommend just completely forgoing the necklace altogether.
High Neck/Turtle Neck
If you are wearing a top that covers your neck completely that doesn't necessarily mean that you can't wear jewelry with that. It is actually the completely opposite, a lot of necklaces look really great with a high-neck top. The only necklace I would try to stay away from with a high-neck top would be a really short-length or choker necklace.
