Boston is a fast-paced, busy city with a lot to do and a lot to offer. I don't think many people think of Boston when they think of a vacation spot, but I think it is a great vacation destination for people of all ages. Whether you're taking a family vacation, a friend trip, or even a couples getaway…Boston is a great place to go. Fun Things To Do in Boston This Weekend

Fenway Park

Fenway Park, the beloved ballpark of the Boston Red Sox, is a living legend steeped in baseball history. Since 1912, its asymmetrical green canvas has hosted countless iconic moments, from Ted Williams' mammoth home runs to Carlton Fisk's World Series-winning walk-off homer. Its quirky features, like the 37-foot Green Monster in left field and the manually operated scoreboard, add to its charm, while the raucous Boston crowd creates an electric atmosphere on game days. Fenway Park is more than just a ballpark; it's a pilgrimage site for baseball fans, a testament to the enduring power of the game. Whether you are a Boston fan or not, visiting Fenway Park is a must. If you go during baseball season I would recommend a game but if it's the off-season, you can still visit Fenway park and take a tour.

The Freedom Trail

Boston's Freedom Trail is a 2.5-mile brick path winding through history, connecting 16 iconic sites that shaped America's fight for independence. Imagine strolling past Boston Common, the oldest public park in the country, then stopping at the Granary Burying Ground, where Founding Fathers like Samuel Adams and John Hancock rest. Peek into the Old North Church, where lanterns signaled Paul Revere's famous midnight ride. Follow the red brick path past Faneuil Hall, the “Cradle of Liberty” where fiery speeches ignited a revolution, and past the USS Constitution, the world's oldest commissioned warship. Each brick beneath your feet whispers stories of colonists rallying against British rule, culminating at the Bunker Hill Monument, a soaring obelisk marking the pivotal battle that proved the Continental Army's mettle.

Boston Symphony Orchestra

Founded in 1881, the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) is a world-renowned ensemble boasting impeccable artistry, a storied legacy, and a beautiful home in Symphony Hall. Boston holds a lot of history in this country and if you would like to see what times were like back in the 1700's, taking a trip to the Paul Revere House is a very interesting experience. Standing proudly in Boston's North End, the Paul Revere House isn't just a historic landmark, it's a portal to the American Revolution. Built around 1680, it's the city's oldest structure and the only Freedom Trail site that's a home. Imagine stepping into the cozy brick abode, with its steep gabled roof and dormer windows. Inside, sunlight spills through narrow panes onto worn wooden floors, and period furniture hints at colonial life. You can almost hear the clatter of Paul Revere's silversmithing tools in the workshop and picture his family gathered around the hearth on a chilly night. But the house whispers of its most famous event too. Stand in the second-floor bedroom and envision Revere himself, roused by the urgent news, scribbling a message, and leaping to the window to yell, “The British are coming!”

New England Holocaust Memorial

The Holocaust was a horrific moment of history and the New England Holocaust Memorial is a beautiful memorial dedicated to the 6 million lives that were lost in the Holocaust. The tower is 54 feet tall and all glass with numbers etched into the glass to represent each of the victims. Rising from Boston's historic Freedom Trail, the New England Holocaust Memorial stands as a poignant tribute to the six million Jews murdered during the Shoah. Six glass towers, each etched with millions of flickering numbers, pierce the sky, symbolizing the immense scale of the tragedy. Below, charred tree stumps and smoldering pits evoke the darkness of concentration camps, while flames flicker upwards, representing hope and resilience. Inscribed survivor testimonies whisper personal stories of loss and perseverance, while a timeline etched on the plaza grounds the memorial in historical context.
