How To Support Your Partner’s Passion For Sports When You Aren’t A Fan

When you are a couple it is more fun to do things together. Sharing a passion is a great way for a couple to bond and spend some quality time together. However, when one of the partners is a sports fanatic and the other isn't, it can create some tension.

This is because sports can take up a lot of your partner’s attention and leave you out. There is a way to enjoy sports together so you can still spend some quality time together. In this article, we will go over several ways that you can still spend time with your sports fanatic partner when you aren’t a fan.

1 – Do fantasy sports

Playing fantasy sports doesn’t need to be only for fans of the sport. It is a lot of fun for anybody and provides a great way to enjoy the sports season when you aren’t a fan. It is possible that you can even win without knowing much about the sport since it is all about numbers and research.

For instance, if your partner loves baseball then you can research the MLB DFS ownership projections to put together a team that has a shot at winning the season. You just have to draft the right players and keep your roster set during the season.

You have a choice of creating a team together and sharing the success. Or, you can each make your own team and compete against each other. Either way, it is sure to be fun because it is something that you are doing together. Watching the games is more fun when you have something extra to help you appreciate them.

2 – Do some traveling

When your partner is a sports fanatic then they would generally love to travel to the places that are important to their sport of choice. Boston is a great destination for baseball fans since Fenway Park is where the legendary Red Sox plays. It is one of the oldest parks in the country and is a unique way to watch the game. It is filled with history and the park is a central character in what makes Boston a unique destination.

Whatever the sport or city is that holds their fascination the most, it is a great way to experience something unique on a vacation. During the rest of the trip, you can do the types of activities that you are more interested in since you’ve taken the time to indulge their passion.

3 – Join a team

Playing sports is far more fun than watching sports. If you want to spend some quality time together then joining a team and playing together is a great way to do this. There are plenty of adult leagues that are organized enough to be efficient, but not so much that they are stuffy and taken too seriously.

It doesn’t matter if you are good or not. You are going to have fun and have a chance to bind even further as a result.
