Squash is a fall season favorite, making it a logical choice on Thanksgiving.  This side dish is very easy to make and can work as a side dish or a pre-meal snack.  To make herb-roasted squash, you will need butternut squash, salt and pepper, bay leaves, olive oil, fresh thyme and butter.  These take 35 minutes to make and are almost like potato chips when they are done.

New Ambrosia

New Ambrosia is a side dish that can add a little citrus to your meal.  It is like a salad, making it a great first course for your meal.  You will need red grapefruit, celery, cucumber, fresh basil, naval oranges, avocados, jalapeno pepper, arugula and buttermilk-coconut dressing.  You can also sprinkle coconut or almond slivers on top for a bit of extra flavor.  The dish itself takes minutes to make, but you want to let it sit and chill for around an hour before plating and serving it.
