Did you know that Champions for Kids is helping communities across the country? Champions for Kids, Elmer’s and other sponsors are making it easy for communities to help local students and teachers go back to school with the confidence and tools they need for success through donation and volunteer opportunities.
Beginning July 7, customers at more than 2,300 participating Walmart stores can purchase pre-filled backpacks or select Unilever or Purell products and deposit donations in bins located in Walmart stores nationwide. All donations will stay in the local community and be distributed through school districts nearest to each store.
We were excited to head to our local Walmart to purchase and donate a backpack for a child in need. We also do this with school supplies every year by buying double what was requested in each classroom so that the teacher can share with a child who couldn't afford supplies.
Champions for Kids makes it simple to give kids in your community the resources they need to thrive. By working with retailers, schools and volunteers to host in-store donation campaigns, service projects and community events, CFK has served more than 2,020,000 children in 50 states since 2004. The goal is to help 20 million children by the year 2020 through programs like SIMPLE Service and SIMPLE Giving, as well as events like RazorFest and the organization’s Annual Conference. Champions for Kids has donated to 11,947 community organizations to support children’s’ needs and has leveraged 126,000 people for their cause. Additional information about Champions for Kids can be found by visiting www.championsforkids.org.
Did you know that in 2013 K-12 teachers spent $1.6 billion out of their own pockets to provide enough resources for all of their students?
Studies find that students who are well-equipped stay connected to school. They earn better grades, receive higher test scores, have better attendance records and have a higher graduation rate.
For every 5 backpack donations shared on social media with the hashtag #SimpleServeSave, Savings.com will donate a backpack!
The more they give, the more we give, and the more children benefit!

This donation was important to me for several reasons. One I take every opportunity to show my children about giving back. We donate our time and give money whenever we can. My children understand that they are lucky and have more than many other kids. And now they gave back.
Visit your local Walmart, donate a backpack, and share it on social media so that we can tell others how you are giving back. Remember for every 5 backpack donations shared on social media with the hashtag #SimpleServeSave, Savings.com will donate a backpack! The more they give, the more we give, and the more children benefit!
I’ve done a few projects with Champions for Kids and think it’s such a great program. Such an easy way to really give back.
That is an awesome program! I love how easy it is to give back to our kids schools.
I love the Champions for Kids program! Across this country, school funding is being slashed, and my parents can’t afford to buy all the supplies that schools once provided for the kids. This is a great program!
I have done a couple donations for Champions For Kids and have involved my kids in the process. Love this campaign for the backpacks!
This is so awesome. I love how they make it so easy to donate.
I just love Champions for kids and the level of help they provide for our local community! And i love how easy they make it to donate!
This is such an amazing organization. The easy donation is so great for those that don’t want to search for things.
This is such an awesome program. It’s so important for everyone to give back… but I really feel like the big companies need to be doing this way more!
What a fantastic way to give back. I like the Champion For Kids they are great for those in need.
That is one awesome bundle to buy and donate, love this! I’m going to get one next time I see one – every kid should have supplies!
This is a great way to give back. When I was a teacher there were many things I wish the classroom had that I was spending my own money. Even basics like colored pencils!
I love that they are doing this… It is so important to give to the kids who need the assistance. Thanks for letting me know.
I haven’t heard of this organization. It’s great that they make it so easy.
Incredible that they have helped over 2 million kids. That is wonderful. Thank you for sharing about this great program.
What a great program. I can’t believe teachers spend that much out of their own pockets! I love these pre-made backpacks and that they’re less than $20 – what a bargain to buy and to donate!
I was just in there this week, but I didn’t see that bin. When I go back this weekend, I’ll take part in it. I LOVE how they prefilled the backpacks!
That’s a wonderful program!
Thanks for sharing, I’m soo excited that they have this campaign this year again… We did it last year to share some school supplies and I wondered if they will do it again… Have to check out my Walmart, I love the Champions for Kids Promotions they are AWESOME and help people right in my very own community
SIMPLE Giving projects – I’ve been blessed to participate in quite a few. I love how easy they make it for the public to participate and help out their communities.
This is an awesome program. My family and I will be participating as well.
