Can you believe that it is almost Summer?
That's right, Summer is less than one month away. The kids are out of school and I am constantly looking for ways to entertain them. I am thinking ice cream treats would be a perfect way to satisfy their snacking ways on a hot Summer day.
Don't we all just need a little more ice cream in our lives?
Drumsticks are one of my absolute favorite things to eat. For dessert. For a snack. Pretty much for any occasion. I love Drumsticks. The only problem is hiding them from my kids in the freezer. They are little thieves.

OH my I love them ALL. If I had to choose one it would be the Dibs, because they are small, I like to savor my ice cream, and they are a great size for my kiddos to share with me too.

Probably Drumsticks are my favorite, because they remind me of my childhood. My mother introduced my family to Dibs a few years ago, and we love them, too. I’m looking forward to trying Skinny Cow.
I like the drumsicks too but without the nuts. The ones with caramel.

During the summer we like to plan family vacations. My husband & I both own our own businesses so it’s hard to take time off. But, we make sure to do a family trip during the summer. That’s always something everybody looks forward to.

Every summer we take time off – we don’t go anywhere but we fish, camp out back, spend time together and just enjoy ourselves with out the hustle.

What a perfect giveaway just in time for summer. How about we eat a lot of ice cream in the summer and keep the ice cream man busy
We also loved to get in our bathing suits and turn on the sprinklers and run around the yard with our friends. We would run the hose through the top of our swingset to get the water to drip through the holes and we would pretend it was a shower. We also really loved to play kickball, walk to 7-11 and the mall.

Oh my word, My favorite flavor ice cream is Nestle drumsticks, YUMMY, I love the layer of nuts on the top and the vanilla ice cream underneath that. Oh I think i need to fun out and buy some of these right away.

Something my family loves to do in the summer time is go CAMPING! We have a little special spot that we pitch a tent close to the water. The kids swim all day, we sit around the camp fire and roast marshmallows at night. It’s just great quality family time! I love the summer!

Since my family is scattered, we each do a lot of traveling – especially to see each other! I went to Japan to see one son & family already. We all love to travel.
I live where the country’s most beautiful beaches are (we will see if we can still claim that after all this oil spill business) so we love to go to the beach!
Most of my family love fishing, so we also love to walk around in the Bass Pro Shop stores! Today I am taking two grandchildren to the store as they are having crafts to do there today!

Drumsticks were always my favorite. Until I neede to lose weight. I haven’t had one in sooo long!
We all love ice cream and to make our own. Each summer we like to come up with different flavor combinations to create.
Since I tend my grandchildren on a regular basis, I like to take them to the library, to check out books and to look at the cool aquarium they have!
When it gets too hot to be out much (in FL it gets that way!) I spend a lot more time reading to my grandchildren, they love it!
When we were kids, we liked to play out in the rain, now I like to walk in a nice gentle summer rain with my grandkids. As long as there is no lightening!

Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwichs are the best.
We love camping and that is one of the things our family enjoys in the summer.
My family and I love the Skinny Cow ice cream bars. It’s the perfect amount of ice cream — but it’s hard not to eat just one sometimes!
The National Cherry Festival is in my town and I love all of the event!!
Maybe this year, since I’m preggers, I’ll enter the pie eating contest..cherry of course!
My girls are grown now, but I have two little granddaughters who love the outdoors–especially the pool. Since we have such wonderful weather most of the year here in Florida, they’ll be starting swimming lessons next week. I have a feeling since I watch them during the day, that this summer is going to be spent in the pool!

Sad to admit this, but I am one of those crazy people with a metal detector that you see on the beach. But the kids LOVE it! We’ve found all kinds of things, from coins to bits of jewelry, to Matchbox cars (lots of those!). No Spanish Pieces of Eight yet, but we keep trying!

Fireworks on the 4th of July! My daughter was Junior Miss 4th of July, so she was in a hometown parade and then we went to the local park for fireworks. Everyone was waving those little American flags — it was very moving and beautiful.

Summer time is = to living on our big ol front porch.
Summer time heat drives up outside to get a breath of air. And the big ol porch is the place to meet and greet for us.
Also the place to eat that evening bowl of icecream or the special ‘sicles for the grandbabes.
We have a big vegetable patch filled with herbs, tomatoes, peppers, squash and lots of pumpkins for fall. It takes a lot of time to maintain, but it’s a family project. And of course, then we eat the “fruits of our labors!”

We have a bonfire pit in the backyard. Not only if those pretty ones for the patio, but a big honking one dug out of the earth and lined with rock for giant bonfires. We often have cookouts/bonfires for the neighbors and our friends, eat hot dogs, roast marshmallows and in general act silly.

Visiting our family in Cape Cod, MA is always a blast. My sister in law has a lovely house and sea kayaking is the kids’ favorite activity! We paddle out to this little sandbar at low tide and look for shells.

Local museums are great way to beat the heat. We’ve found that if we join our local Natural History Museum, the have a reciprocal agreement with museums all over the country. So you can get in other places free with your membership card! We’ve been to NASA in Florida, the Children’s Museum in Houston, and the Children’s Museum in Albuqurque all free. Great deal and a way to support our local (and very small) natural history museum.

The Drumstick is my favorite brand out of all of those. I like the original drumsticks, and the different flavored ones. My favorite is the ones with caramel or chocolate down the middle of the ice cream! These are my favorites because these have been around for a LONG time and I have always enjoyed them. They taste good, they are a quick and easy snack, and my favorite part is the waffle cone!
We love the movies! There are usually so many great ones that come out in the summer, so we’re all looking forward to spending some time seeing the latest flicks together!

During the summer I enjoy swimming. Nothing beats a nice day at the pool on a hot day. I’m not one for laying out in the sun. I’m ALWAYS in the water.
We also love “movie night at home.” Our neighbors have three kids and we have three kids, so we pile into one house or another, movie the furniture, spread out the blankets and pillows and pop up some popcorn. Cheap entertainment and memories that will last a lifetime!

Sometime in August we’ll start back-to-school shopping,. The best is the actual school supplies… it’s sort of a game to see how much we can get and how cheaply. Staples will have boxes of pencils for 1 cent and Office Max will have crayons or markers for a quarter. Every time we leave the house we hit another store. Most of it we save for a shoebox mission program run by our church before Christmas.

We love spending the day at the beach although now its harder since we moved. We used to live 15 minutes from the ocean on Long Island and spent a lot of time there.
We visit the public library every week. The children’s librarian has known the kids since they were born, so we love to visit, pick up a bag of books, and of course participate in the Summer Reading Program. if the kids read for a certain number of hours (varies by age) they get a free book. they also get entered into drawings for prizes, so it motivates them even more to read.

We live near Longwood Gardens in PA and have a family membership. we love to go an see the changing exhibits. They even have a permanent exhibit of tree houses — but these are nothing like your backyard variety. We’ve decided we could actually live in one like the Swiss Family Robinson!

Everyone in my family runs (I am definitely the worst). So running as a family is a good thing to do and it keeps my kids in shape for fall sports, too. Just gotta do it in the evening because it gets hot, hot, hot!

We bought a Coleman tent a few years back — not for actually going camping — just for the backyard. It’s great because we can have sleepovers and even when we have parties, we set it up. It says it holds about 10 people to sleep, but we’ve had many, many more than that!

My oldest son has had summer football camp.
My 2nd oldest son has been doing a track camp. He also has a speed camp and football camp to attend later in the summer.
I like all of the Skinny Cow line. THey taste really good and you would never know they are lower in sugar
My daughter has been busy getting ready for her dance recital, lots of extra rehearsals.
My family goes to a “camp”, a hunting camp of my grandfather’s every summer and just spends time together without the tv, phone, or internet. It’s a great time to spend with each other, nature, and God. I love it!

We love to go pick our own strawberries in the summer. It’s healthier than buying them in the grocery, it gives us exercise AND something fun to do as family – but still productive!!
We like packing up a picnic lunch and taking it to the fountain in our area. The kids can put on their swimsuits and play in the fountain for free – it’s like an “Aqua Park” – free, clean, restrooms, pavilions with shade for a lunch – perfect! Then we always stop on the way home for a snow cone!
We enjoy going to u-pick farms and loading up on local produce and freezing so we have fresh fruit all year long!!

During the summer we love to GRILL GRILL GRILL all the time for as many meals as we can!!! Nothing like hamburgers and fries during the summer!!
We take advantage of the drive in movie theater in our area – one of the few left! They show double features and charge $15 per car load, so it’s a great deal – bring a blanket, some lawn chairs – and you can bring in your own snacks if you want, which makes things much cheaper than the regular movie theater – we just always have to remember to bring the bug spray!

We hike down into the Gorges in the area to find good, clean swimming holes, and make a day of it.
My husband and I walk a few miles each evening, when it starts to cool down a bit.
Another favorite summer activity is going for a stroll along the river path when the sun is going down. It’s so peaceful, calm and beautiful.
My husband and I love to go exploring on sunny summer weekends. We’ll just hop in the car and go driving for a couple hours into the mountains, or poke around a small town.

We often go to secluded beaches on Lake Erie to collect Beach Glass. We have quite a collection. It is relaxing, peaceful, and beautiful.

Summer is a great excuse for a trip to an ice cream place. We’ll get a sundae or a milkshake, and then go to a park and talk. I love summer.

Ahhh, the life of a college student home for the summer!
I love coming home on Fridays and smelling all the freshly moved lawns – I dunno why but all my neighbors mow on Friday! LOL
I adore the The Original Drumstick because they bring back such great memories spent with family and friends ( not to forget to mention, they taste great too!)
In the summer time I enjoy being outside with my family soaking in the sun because we don’t see it a lot here in Oregon.
I enjoy having to have to do NOTHING most days lol except when I have to clean and cook and clean and cook, BLAH gotta love the summer tho at least I can take a vacation!
I have to admit that I LOVE the original drumsticks. The reason is because it is an indulgent treat, but it’s easy to stop at just one because you feel like you’ve gotten so much and it’s better than eating a whole bowl of ice cream! I am an ice-cream-aholic, so my willpower just seems to fade away when it comes to ice cream. But I can have ONE drumstick and I’m a happy camper!

My family just appreciates the simple-ness of an ORDINARY day spent at home together. My daughter has cancer, so we have learned to appreciate just being at home doing absolutely NOTHING – anything is better than being in the hospital, doctor’s office, clinic getting chemo…ANYTHING is better than that. If it’s hot outside (of course it always is!) we just turn the AC down, put on a great movie and eat ice cream. THAT is the very best thing in the whole world. The only thing that would make it better is when we hear she can get off chemo!

I love taking kids to the lake to swim, eat chips and icecream, and play in the sand.
Summer means going to a nearby park and pushing kids on the swings, playing tag, and spraying each other with waterguns.
Every season has its flavors and one of my favorite things to do is eat corn on the cob with grilled steak or hamburgers!!
One of my favorite summer activities is the annual church picnic. It means lots of hot sun, great potluck food, and the old fashioned outside games like capture the flag, baseball, and wheelbarrow races.
We love to go geocaching. If you haven’t heard of it go look it up. It is super fun!

we love to go to a place called Cowtown (seriously!) over the bridge in NJ. It’s basically a series of barns filled with all kinds of stuff — from fruits and veggies to jewelry to old tires. You never know what you’ll find and we love the thrill of the hunt!

In our area there are loads of great outdoor historical attractions like Brandywine Battlefield, valley Forge and even the Council Oak (site that Washington stayed in before he marched to Valley Forge). Kids love it and they learn a little, too!

We always hit one or two water parks. When the kids were smaller, we always went to Sesame Place, but now we hit Wild Water Kingdom.

Putt putt golf is a serious sport in our family. We are all uber competitive. When the kids were smaller, we gave ourselves a handicap, but now they usually beat us, anyway!!

Water parks are a good one. We used to go quite often when my son was younger, but not so much anymore. Nothing better on a hot summer’s day 🙂
We all recycle as a family and even have a recycling program through our literacy organization. Last year we recycled over 2 TONS of paper.

We eat together as a family anyway, but in the summer we eat al fresco every chance we can — even for breakfast on the weekends!

We have a little gazebo in the back we call the Wendy House (from Peter Pan) and it’s a wonderful shady place to just sit and chill. Sometimes we play a game, read, or often just sit and watch the birds.

Linvilla Orchards is a great place we’ve visited for years. In the summer we go to their small petting zoo, pick out fruits, veggies and flowers at the farmer’s stand, and end the day with a cookie and a drink. Definite McNeill tradition!

We love the zoo and there’s a tiny one called Plumpton Park not far away. It’s only big enough for a morning or afternoon visit (unlike the Philadelphia Zoo) but it’s really cute. And they have a whole family of 6-toed cats running around!

Our friend has a really nice telescope and whenever there’s a special astronomy “event” (like visible rings around the moon or something) we go out and see it first hand. Very cool and super educational.

Our next-door neighbor Bob is in a Beatles tribute band (he plays Paul McCartney) and every summer we try to go to at least one of his concerts.

One of our neighbors has a backyard pool, just perfect for a neighborhood pool party. Between three of four families, we can really fill that little pool!!

The Delaware State Fair is always a highlight of our summer. Last year they had Kelly Clarkson, Jeff Dunham and Demi Lovato perform!

Both of my daughters take horseback riding lessons. Each year they going to riding camp and at the end, they have a little horse show to show off what they learned. The whole family (even Grandmom and Grandpop) go to the show.

Our local PAL center has a Family Fun Day every year. Everything is free — from the moon bounce to the games. Loads of families attend and we parent love things like free kids’ fingerprinting and ID cards!

This summer my daughter was asked to do a mural on the bottom of the baby pool at our local pool. We all helped (she’s only 12, but a dynamite artist!). We helped her cut out forms, outline and even paint. the pool management likes it so much, they’ve asked us to paint murals in the bathrooms, too!

I’ve heard you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but my family disagrees. Our lab is 9 1/2 years old and we all like to teach her new things. Beyond the sit, stay, shake basics, she can twirl, balance a bone on her nose and “die” when we say BANG!

We like to feed and watch the birds. Problem was, we didn’t know how to identify them. My mother in law bought us a bird book. Now we sit outside and know exactly what’s flying around.

My girls and are are pretty crafty. Every year we buy dollar store flip flops and decorate them. When they were younger gluing on foam shapes was as creative as we got. Now that they are older, they have some pretty jazzy flip flops in a rainbow of colors — cheap!

Scrapbooking is a great thing we do together — more in the summer because we have a lot more time. It’s fun to look at the photos you’ve taken all year and maybe things and events you had forgotten. It’s like living through the memories twice!

Lancaster County, PA is just 45 minutes away so we love to visit Amish country. It’s so neat to see the buggies driving right on the road and all the Amish houses (you can always tell, because there are no electrical wires or poles). Plus they have the best cakes and pies!

Booth’s Corner is a place where I used to go as a child and now I take my kids. It’s a farmers market/junk and antique place. But the best part of Booth’s Corner is the auction. What fun to hear the auctioneer. How do they learn to talk that fast?!

My oldest daughter is very involved in pageants, so that whole family troops wherever her competitions are held to cheer her on (and sometimes offer a shoulder to cry on). The night always ends with a trip to the Golden Corral for a buffet dinner.

Believe it or not, we start getting ready for Halloween in August. The girls both ride at a barn that has a huge Halloween Horse Show and we literally make costumes for the horses. Trust me, you’ve never made a costume until you’ve had to outfit a horse — they’re HUGE (and not real happy about wearing costumes I found out). Thank goodness for staples and the glue gun!

The Wilmington Blue Rocks are our local minor league team (farm team for Kansas City). We get free tickets through works and go all summer long. Hot dogs and baseball. What more could you want?

Old New Castle is one of the best places to go in the summer. We love to go and stroll the cobblestone streets and sit by the water. The historic houses are fun for me. The kids love the carriages best.

One of my favorite things to do is leave a window open on a rainy day, listenign to the calming sound, and enjoying the smell of fresh rain, while reading a favorite book.
I love that we can play on the elementary school’s playground anytime during the summer and not just weekends. My daughter goes to a private school that accommodates her food allergies better than the public school, but we like the public school’s playground!

We like to take advantage of our summer days to make craft items. We do not usually have time during the school – not for the time consuming ones. The kids love to think up things to make for gifts or to decorate their rooms! Then we can eat ice cream afterward! Every thing is better with ice cream!
We love to go fishing. We used to put whomever was the youngest in a playpen with toys beside us and then we would fish and eat a picnic lunch before going home!

We always had a big garden, which we divided into sections for each of us, family section, and then each kid section. They loved it when someone would ask to eat their lettuce, or please pass your tomatoes, etc. !!!

We like to go around the lake on pedal boats.
We like to watch the fireworks at the local country club from the top of our street. It’s gotten so popular that people leave their car on the street overnight so they have a “spot” to sit.

We love to make homemade ice cream in the summertime!
We love setting up the trampoline in the summer! Great way to burn off excess energy!
We are looking forward to having time to clean out the last two rooms of our house – lots of baby/toddler stuff I need to sell at consignment events this fall!
I made my own strawberry sorbet the other week and it was fantastic!
Can’t wait to do some summertime photoshoots with my nephews in the park!
I plan on spending a lot of time at the beach this summer.
I also have 3 weddings to attend this summer! Can’t wait to see some of my best friends tie the knot!
Sometimes we have a relaxing day- especially if it is raining -we play board games!
There is actually one of the few remaining drive in theaters about 30 minutes away. They still have the old car speakers and the concessions. We go and have a ball.

sometimes one of our favorite things to do is to just hide inside from the blazing heat and be thankful for the a/c and good old movies!
Sometimes we get a bunch of movies, pop popcorn, make some sandwiches and have an all nighter ‘movie night’!
One of my favorite things about summer is driving with the windows down, without a coat on, feeling the warm breeze blowing in the windows.
We also make time to do more volunteering- we try to find things to do outside-like doing the annual river cleaning. Its fun, but a bit messy. It makes us realize not to pollute and to be careful what can be thrown where!
Since I have a small cat rescue, we find opportunities to become more involved in working and networking with people who do the same. Spring is usually ‘kitten time’ but summer is a great time for education.
We love to go garage saling during the summer! With only a few dollars, sometimes you can find hidden treasures 🙂

When camping isnt a reality. we like pitching a tent (or a couple small ones) in the backyard and having a campout!

When it’s too hot outside to play and too hot inside too, we head to the library where it’s nice and cool and there are plenty of good books to be found!

We love to go on nature walks!
Another ‘free thing to do’ -we put on swimsuits when it’s raining after it has been hot- the rain is surprisingly warm and cools off the longer it comes down. Its fun to stand under a rain gutter and almost like a waterfall!
I like getting books about different types of trees and how to identify them-then going on a nature walk and learning types of trees by leaf/bark etc. It’s fun, and educational!
We like getting books about birds and how to identify them-we either watch at home (we have a couple pair of binoculars) or go someplace where there are alot of birds. Our absolute favorite is to go to Eagle Point and watch the eagles!

We also like getting books about different animals and the tracks they leave. Yep, we use plaster of Paris and will make casts of the different prints we see-especially down by a lake or river.
I like catching up on Saturday Night Live re-runs that I missed during the regular season.
I like to make my grandmother’s potato salad for my family…brings back memories!
Starting to sound like a dork, but we get alot of books on nature and animals.
We get books about rocks too- and go and find quartz, geodes (those are the fun) and rocks native to our area. Some rocks that are really interesting have been kept for years!
There is a quarry not too far away that has alot of fossils of both plants and fishes. We have been there many times looking for fossils and later come home and look up what they are!
Go to Fossil Rim animal park in Glen Rose, TX to see all the various animals. They have baby giraffes now so we’re looking forward to seeing them. The giraffes like to come peer in the car windows and will stick their heads inside if you forget to close the sunroof!
Go to Sandy Lake Park – a “park” that has rides, a pool, a train and other fun stuff for kids (mostly small ones).
Take the train from Grapevine to Fort Worth to visit the other side of town!
We spend alot of time outside-or at least as often as possible. Probably due to living through nasty MidWest winters. We like having water balloon and soaker fights too (OK not really fights just throwing water at each other) 🙂
Because it is the coolest place in the house, summer is also when we clean the basement. We go through last winter’s clothes and pack up the good and donate what has been outgrown. We also go through the canned goods since we have to stock up due to snowstorms! It would be great to have a deep freeze, then we could stock up on more meats!
Summertime is when we take road trips. Most times up to Minneapolis to see relatives that we don’t see alot of during the winter because of road conditions. We go and see Aunt Mary and oftentimes go to the museum there since it’s a bigger city!
Late summer is sweetcorn time here in the MidWest. If you have never had real MidWest sweetcorn, well you’re missing out! There are several sweetcorn festivals we go to, since most are free admission. We go and ride the rides and see the exhibits. And yes, we eat sweet corn 🙂

I’m hoping I will be stocking a new freezer this summer with all the Specific Carbohydrate Diet meals I’ve been making for my daughter for her health problems. I haven’t been to sleep yet because I’ve been cooking all night for our trip to Shreveport. She can’t eat any of the food there, so we have to bring it all with us. I need to learn to cook in bulk and make homemade frozen dinners that I can pull out this summer and re-heat!

We are farmers and ranchers. Our summers are filled with working outside. Our children and their families are frequent visitors and we have many meals together, whether its a cook-out, a sandwich, or going to town for a burger.
I loved the drumsticks when I was a kid and still love them now. I grew up in the country so we rarely got ice cream bought from the store. These I remember.

My three girls, husband and I love to picnic. It doesn’t matter if it’s at a park, at the beach, in our front yard, in our driveway…it doesn’t matter. Our girls just love to be outside and enjoying the summer! Especially since we’re in Michigan and it seems to be mostly cold or rainy 3/4ths of the year. And what picnic is complete without a Drumstick..yum!

We pull out the really old fashioned ice cream maker- so good- and I can see why ice cream is commercially produced- it takes time!
There’s nothing better on a sweltering hot day than to go to the movie theater and catch the afternoon matinee. The afternoons, many of the movies are just $1 to attend (not the new ones but maybe one we hadnt seen) . To get out of the heat and see a movie is great!
We like to play frisbee golf! 🙂

Not quite officially summer here (yet) but humid! On days like this when the humidty seems to make everyone a bit more cranky, just taking a nice drive with all the windows down and singing offkey brightens everybody’s mood:)
Go swimming! We don’t have a pool but there are several community ones in the area.
Go to the movies! Especially when I was a kid, the movie theatre was the place everyone went in the summertime to escape the heat 🙂
The The Original Drumstick can’t be beat!
Something that serves double duty is taking the dog outside and giving him a bath with the hose. Everyone gets wet, the dog gets to play, and everyone is cooled off!
We like to have lots of picnics–especially when it’s not too hot outside.
This is fun and when we cant go anywhere it works. We get the kiddy pool out and fill it with nice cool water- throw in some dishsoap and splash until there are bubbles galore. Then we give each other soap beards and soap hairdos -of course its a rinse off after but its fun!
Get a book about butterflies and bugs- then go out walking and see who can identify what. We try to find things that relate to our area, and we have alot of fun!

We like to cook on the grill a lot – if I don’t use my stove/oven all summer I’m a happy girl. LOL

Wash the car @ home instead of taking it to the car wash. Since the weather is nice, my son is happy to wash mine too! 🙂

I really like The Original Drumstick. I like that you have the crunchy nuts and then you get to the ice cream; and then the texture of the cone. I’ve probably been eating these for 30+ years.
In the summer we like to go to the public pool. It has been overhauled; and now has all the neat toys and slides and can be walked into. Not like the pools when I was a kid, where you had to jump into several feet of water to enter the pool.

In the summer we watch how big the baby animals have grown since sprintime and enjoy watching their antics-all long legs still and awkward like most teens 🙂
There is a fair called ‘Cucumber Days’ in a town nearby- they always have the firemen play Tug of War spraying a ball hung over head back and forth until one side wins. Well one side wins eventually, but , everyone gets soaked 🙂

I enjoy going to the various festivals the small towns around here have in the summer. I swear, I think they make some of these up. LOL
We enjoy going to the Chili Cookoff and Rubber Duck Regatta 🙂 It’s the coolest thing watching several hundred rubber ducks float downstream 🙂
We love the skinny cow ice cream cones and ice cream sandwiches because they are so yummy and less calories/fat – they fit into our healthy eating plan!! Woohoo!
We love to grill out and play outside in our backyard with our little boy during the summer months
In the summer we like to turn the sprinklers on and run underneath it!

We like sitting outside when its warm outside and having a ‘picnic’ lunch in the yard- real picnics too, but the ones in the yard can be spur of the moment!
A family hike is so much fun- just seeing who will notice what. It gives a whole new perspective to the world.
I love to just sit out in the front yard and just watch my son play..an just hang out.

We like going to the local Elementary School and watching the Field Day competition. It wasn’t sooo long ago, my son was one of those kids!

We like going to the park and playing frisbee golf. The dog even gets to play!
Summertime I like bring out the old mint julep recipe for the adults and a tame version for the younger crowd.
We like escaping the summer heat by going to the library, imaginarium or heck even the mall when it is too hot outside!
We like watching the weather sometimes and seeing where the thunderstorms are occurring. We have tornadoes here in the summer and we make sure we have the basement ready with batteries/flashlight/radio etc.
I like almost all of the Skinny Cow products- the more chocolate, the better. I like their fudgesicles the best- great chocolate taste and low fat.

We enjoy eating fresh Plums in season – we eat them fresh but also dry some in the food dehydrator.
I enjoy eating fresh Raspberries in season – great for smoothies, on top of ice cream or just snacking out of hand!
We enjoy eating fresh Strawberries in season – my strawberry pot looks really great this year, and so far the birds haven’t taken notice. 😀
I enjoy eating fresh Squash in season – so far I’ve gotten a few yellow squash and one zucchini 🙂
Need I say – we enjoy eating fresh Tomatoes in season. I’ve gotten a few Romas, picked my first Cherrys today (eaten with some baby lettuce and the cuke I mentioned earlier, salad for breakfast!) and my slicing tomatoes (I forget the variety) are really coming in nicely 🙂
It’s not summertime if we don’t get to eat fresh Watermelon in season – I’m hoping my plants give me at least 1. Not sure how well watermelon will do in a container on the deck. LOL
My son and his friends enjoy playing frisbee at the park in the summer 🙂
My son has always wanted to play golf, he’s thinking of taking a few lessons this summer and working on his golf game. I might tag along to drive the cart. LOL
We like to have friends over for a BBQ and play hackeysack, horseshoes, badmitton, and/or croquet 🙂
We just bought some outdoor speakers, I’m going to enjoy sitting on the deck in the evenings, enjoying my garden space and listening to Pandora 🙂
