Family Travels with the Sony VAIO Tap 20
I participated in this Sony/Intel sponsored post with Burst Media, all thoughts and opinions are my own. We are avid travelers in this family. We hop in the car, we get on a plane,...
The Shark V1950 VX3 Cordless Floor and Carpet Cleaner is manufactured by Euro-Pro Operating LLC. Euro-Pro is a company that has made cleaning products and home appliances for more than a century. This cleaner combines two appliances in one, a floor sweeper and a vacuum cleaner, making it functional on both carpeted and bare floors.
The gray and purple model features a broom-like thirteen inch bristle brush that rolls along and sweeps up debris from bare floors (tile, vinyl, hardwood floors) or from carpeted floors and area rugs. It also has a motorized side rotator brush, which is for getting dust or debris along walls.
The Shark V1950 VX3 Cordless Floor and Carpet Cleaner is bagless so it eliminates having to purchase more bags or having to change out dirt-filled bags. The dirt collects in a “no-touch” dirt cup that empties with the simple push of a button.
There’s no need to switch from outlet to outlet and no tangled cords since the cleaner is conveniently cordless with a rechargeable battery that lasts up to fifty minutes per charge. The rechargeable NiCd battery pack does eventually need to be replaced though. The cleaner has two speed settings, which include multi-surface for regular cleaning of carpeted and uncarpeted floors and turbo for heavy-duty cleaning jobs.
Another feature is a folding “Backsaver” handle that is designed to reach under furniture without needless bending over. The handle also folds in half for easy storage. Additional features are swivel steering and a hinged low head design that are meant to make tight spots and rounding corners less awkward to maneuver.
The Shark V1950 VX3 Cordless Floor and Carpet Cleaner has a one year limited warranty against defects or workmanship. It is lightweight, only weighing four pounds and measures 13 by 18 by 42 inches.
The truth is, that I am not going to recommend it. Although I love my Shark, I don’t feel that they are as durable as they should be. I am on my 4th Shark and the fact is, they just don’t last that long. Each one has lasted about 1 1/2 to 2 years. I really love my Shark but I HATE having to buy a new one every few years and even though we don’t use them excessively, they just break. I think that the warranty should be longer or the product should hold up better.
