Spring break is here and if you are like me, then you are looking for family friendly places to take the kids. Our requirements are that there has to be something for everyone to do. We like to get outside, eat good good, relax and do some super fun activities in between plus we enjoy seeing what else we discover. The spring break destination also has to be within driving distance of Atlanta because there are five of us and flying tends to be a little overwhelming sometimes. Pigeon Forge, Tennessee in the Great Smoky Mountains has everything that we are looking for and more. Want to ride a coaster? Hike in the mountains? You can ride go carts, mine for gold, play mini golf, do an escape room adventure, go see a movie, taste wine and/or whiskey, go white water rafting and so much more. You can also head to Dollywood for the day.
Where to eat
There is no better place in the world for barbecue than the south. You name it, we have it down here. BBQ sauces are either Carolina style which means that they are made with vinegar or the slightly sweeter & savory type which is a thick style sauce. In Pigeon Forge, you will find everything from traditional BBQ and southern cooking to bubble tea and even a brewery.
Getting around
Did you know that Pigeon Forge has a trolley? While there is plenty of parking for those who drive their cars, you can ride in style on the Pigeon Forge trolley which visits over 200 official stops.
