Mega Millions Lottery News
I received door prizes from the Georgia Lottery at the Mega Millions event where I learned about the information in this article. As always, the opinions expressed are my own.
I recently attended a Mega Millions event in Atlanta to learn more about the changes being made to Mega Millions. While there I met the fabulous Aunt Edith. Aunt Edith told us all about how the new Mega Millions lottery works. See her rap video HERE:
Mega Millions has been redesigned to increase value for its players. Starting jackpots will more than double from $15 million to $40 million and jackpots will grow faster overall. Odds are now higher to win $1 million prizes and higher secondary prizes. More money and better odds to win? Count me in!
Mega Millions ticket price is now $2.
These changes come as a result of the demand of consumers to keep the lottery games entertaining and to deliver on attention-grabbing jackpots. I don't know about you, but I only play when the jackpots are high. And $40 million is definitely what I consider high. Bring on the money!
Mega Millions is one of the world's biggest and most recognizable lottery games. It is currently played in 46 jurisdictions: 44 states plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The largest Mega Millions jackpot was a $656 million prize in 2012 that was split between three winners. Sadly, I was not one of those winners. But, that has not stopped me from trying to win! Go out and get your Mega Millions lottery ticket today! Who knows, you could be the next millionaire.
