I am Participating in the Total Gym “Total Mom” Challenge!
We each start by taking measurements and record our beginning weight. I also took a “Before” picture.
What is the Total Gym?
Have you heard of it? Perhaps you have seen the uber awesome Chuck Norris and his sidekick Christie Brinkley telling you about it on late night television.
I have to admit that that this was the first time that I had heard of Total Gym. The television was left on late one night and I woke up to Chuck and Christie telling me how I can get into the best shape of my life.
I was fascinated by the commercials but I have to confess that a lot of late night television does that to me.
What I liked about the Total Gym was that it is a gravity based exercise machine meaning that it works with my body weight. I also LOVED that these are not two hour long workout. In fact, they are 6-8 minute workouts!
From the Total Gym website:
“The Total Gym XLS, the newest unit in the Total Gym family, sets the standard for fitness excellence. This total fitness system features:
- 400 lb weight capacity for total strength and stability
- Upgraded comfort system
- Upgraded pulley and cable system
- Flexible nylon strap handles
- Upgraded squat stand
- Padded glideboard with head support
- Chrome package
- Exercise capability – over 80 exercises
Out of the box, the Total Gym XLS was already assembled and easy to set right up.
I was a little hesitant to get on it at first but once I started, I found it to be a great workout.
Because of a hectic week of travel, I only did it twice last week and that is definitely something that I need to work on more this week.
Keep checking back to see my progress.
I almost forgot one of the coolest things about that Total Gym is how easily it folds up. I can put this thing anywhere and then set it back up whenever I want to work out. Check this out:
