Cool Gifts for Techies
Cool Gifts for Techies Christmas is almost here and that means that my gift buying is in full swing. There are a few essential technology items that I believe every tech lover should have...
I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Sprint. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and to thank me for participating.
The Onyx Studio speaker is a new high end speaker made by Harman Kardon and utilizes wireless Bluetooth technology in order to make playing music easy. The speaker system is built like an unassuming black circle that is propped up by a stand. Under the hood this speaker system has 4 powered speakers and dual passive radiators to ensure that you are getting a great sound from this system.
The box comes with the speaker, a charger, and a manual. The system also features the ability to go wireless for up to 5 hours without needing to charge. This will appeal to people looking to play their music at events where chargers are not easily accessible like tailgating for sporting events or playing music at a park. The Bluetooth capability means that the consumer is able to stream music to the speakers using any modern smartphone or other Bluetooth capable device.
On the technical side of things, the speakers are broken down into 2 3″ subwoofers and 2 3/4″ tweeters. The frequency response is 60Hz to 20Hz and the frequency range is 2402MHz to 2480MHz. The dimensions of the system are 280mm by 161mm by 260mm.
This design of the device is definitely designed to catch the eye. It's uniquely circular design is something that is not seen in other multi-speaker systems. The Onyx would be most appealing to those that are looking for a speakers system that is wireless and has a long battery life to keep the music going for long periods of time. If your device doesn't have Bluetooth capability, the Onyx also contains a 3.5mm stereo jack for use with those devices. The back of the system also has a USB port to charge a device while it is playing music.
The Onyx is perfect for home or office use with it's slim and portable design. It is able to be taken anywhere and fill the room with sound from any smart device. The rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery will ensure that music will play for hours on end.
If you have this speaker, then you need the HTC One M8 Harman/Kardon Edition phone from Sprint because they just go together with perfect sound and clarity. Read my review of the phone.
That’s a lot of power in such a small speaker. My brother would love to have this.
GEEZ –I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE ONE OF THESE..NICE REVIEW
You seriously just copy=pasta’d the writing on the box and brochure and they gave you one?
Nice gig if you can get it.
How does it sound? How loud does it play? How does it sound played softly? How well does it work with your M8? Can you have multiple things hooked to it? Phone and Tablet?
Love to see a followup review sometime…
Will
Hi Will. Nothing was cut and pasted whatsoever but thanks for your comment.
Every other review says there is no auxillary jack to connect a non-Bluetooth device.
