Coming-of-Age Shows You Must Re-watch

Who does not like a coming-of-age show that has all the fun elements such as drama, romance, heartbreak, and a bunch of teenagers trying to get through high school or college? We surely do. These shows are cliché but this is what makes them extremely fun to watch. If you are a millennial then you might remember the times when Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars were a big thing. Everyone used to religiously follow the lives of these teenagers that used to bless our screens every week. Back in those days, we used to make our plans around these series. Needless to say, that time was truly amazing.

If you want to take a trip down a memory lane, then don’t waste a single second. We live in those times when everything is readily available on the internet. So, if you want to go back in the time then we are sure you will find a streaming service that will work as a time machine for you. However, if you want to revisit those titles and names that you used to watch regularly then sit back and relax because we are going to walk you through it.

Before we begin, you need to check if you have the access to the basic utility required for it. Whether it is cable TV service or an internet connection, you need at least one of those to watch these shows. If you don’t have a subscription to either of these services, then now is the perfect time for it.

Don’t worry, we are not going to make you look for one. In fact, we have taken the matter into our own hands by researching for you. One of the leading telecom companies in the US named Spectrum is known for its efficient performance in not only internet connection but cable TV as well. So, if you are thinking of getting a subscription to one of them or even both, then check out its internet plans and packages or bundle deals.

Now that you have the basic utility required for the viewing of TV shows, let’s jump into the list and taste the nostalgia by revisiting the old classics.

Gossip Girl (2007-2012)

Of course, how can we forget the OG? This show introduced us to not only one of the most amazing plotlines of all time in the young adult genre but it also introduced some of the best actors in TV history. The iconic Serena Van Der Woodsen played by Blake Lively and Blair Waldorf played by Leighton Meester were totally our inspirations. They were the ones that set the whole storyline of best frenemies.

And yes, don’t worry, we could never dare to ignore one of the hottest guys that ever aired on the big screens. Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick), Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford), and Dan Humphry (Penn Badgley) became the reason for our unrealistic expectations from men in general. The style icon, the good guy, and the lonely boy, all swooned us with their charming personalities.

The show was purely a means of escapism for most of us. In a way, we started considering upper east Manhattan our second home.

Even talking about is making us miss this show badly. So, don’t miss a chance, put this show on right now, and watch the story unfold once again after all these years.

Pretty Little Liars (2010-2017)

Okay, if you have never watched this show (which we cannot wrap our head around how) then you are in for a ride, or a rollercoaster if you will. This teen thriller has all sorts of drama in it. For a reference, we can say that it is more or less similar to Gossip Girl if it was not a blog, but an anonymous stalker or a blackmailer named “A”.

This group of teenagers is terrified yet confused by the mysterious disappearance of one of their friends. The show is based on the novels written by Sara Shepard and trust us when we say this, it has one of the most glamourous looking cast you can find on your TV screens.

Whether it is Aria, Hannah, Spencer, or Emily, we dreamt of getting a wardrobe like one of these characters. How can someone look so on point while they are in high school?

So, go back to those times when the biggest problem in our life was to find out who “A” really is.

Teen Wolf (2011-2017)

Oh yes, back to those times when Stiles and Lydia were the Ross and Rachel of millennials. The show might be all about wolves but our favorite character was definitely the human; Stiles Stilinski. One of the prime reasons why we could not stop watching this show was to keep entertaining us with the dialogues of Stiles and of course, to finally have an answer; are Stiles and Lydia going to end up together or not?

Obviously, this wasn’t the only reason. The story about a teenager getting bitten by a werewolf caught our attention instantly. Now that he had to deal with his normal teenage life and keep up with the new life, we were intrigued to know what would happen next. How would he keep his secret from his girlfriend, friends, and family?

The stellar cast and their performance made the show even more magical. So, if you still love the serious, gritty drama then take our word, Teen Wolf is still your cup of tea and you need to watch it again.

To Sum Up

There you have it. The aforementioned TV shows are the ones you need to re-watch again during this summer break. So, don’t wait any longer and start preparing for a lit vacation.
