Muffin top waist? Feeling bloated? Are jeans resisting being zipped? Do you know what foods that eliminate water retention? Do you what know foods to eat to get rid of water retention? Take heart, even with a muffin top here is hope. There can be many causes for bloating, some of the reasons are more serious health problems than just a puffy excess of fluid or gas. First check with your doctor to make sure that your symptoms are caused, either by salty or gassy foods or your monthly cycle. If these are the reasons you are in luck, you can lose all that excess fluid by adding these tasty and belly-blasting foods to your diet. We hope that this Foods That Combat Water Retention and Bloating post inspires you.
To shed fluid bloat you will need to eat more of these foods that help water retention:
It contains fiber, magnesium, potassium, good salt, and vitamin C, these are all effective at moving fluid out through the kidneys thereby reducing belly bloating.
Lettuce contains fiber, magnesium, potassium, and Vitamin C. That puffy fluid will be gone shortly.
Cranberries acidify your blood and cause your kidneys to shed excess water, which means less belly bloat.
Fresh corn contains a lot of fiber plus magnesium, potassium, and vitamin C, do you see a trend here? The puffiness will be gone soon.
Parsley is a tasty herb that contains large amounts of potassium, magnesium, and Vitamin C, it removes water from the body effectively and rapidly. This dark green is also acidifying for the blood, which means that it reduces the fluid bloat by causing your kidneys to purge even more fluid.
Oranges are little powerhouses that are full of magnesium, potassium, and Vitamin C, and as blood acidifiers again they are great fluid removers. The juice works well but not quite as well as the whole fruit for removing excess fluid as it does not contain fiber.
Bananas comprise that magnificent combo again, with a good dose of fiber, magnesium, potassium, and Vitamin C, they help to keep that fluid moving out and the puffiness down. The fiber in bananas also helps to regulate the bowel which is always good for reducing the belly.
With fiber, magnesium, potassium, and Vitamin C, Plums help remove the bloat causing fluid to exit through the kidneys. They also help to move your bowels along which again reduces the belly from another perspective.
Pomegranates are very high in Potassium and Vitamin C. Out goes your bloated abdomen.
You will also need to drink more plain water to flush the stagnant water and salt from your body and of course, remember to exercise.
There are also a few foods that help water retention and that you should minimize your use of or avoid outright to help your body hold that fluid at bay. Stay away from the saltiness, that's salted nuts, salted chips and pretzels, pickles, salted lunch meats, and salty cheeses. Sodas, including almost all carbonated beverages, contain a lot of salt. Always check the labels of any prepared foods in the market to avoid an excess of sodium (aka; salt). Most canned foods are heavily salted so stick to fresh or frozen foods or drain and rinse canned food if you must use it.
Remember to avoid adding more salt after your food is served. Reaching for the salt shaker at the table can just be a bad habit that you need to retrain yourself away from. A squeeze of lemon juice or fresh herbs added to your meal instead of salt can add good flavor without adding puffiness to your belly. You may need to go so far as to remove the salt shaker from the table when you eat until you learn not to look for it. If this is too hard, try blocking the holes on the salt shaker with a bit of clear tape. Leave just one or two holes open so that you do not feel deprived. Eventually, you will not even miss that extra salt.
To beat the gassy type of bloat, try to eat foods that are high in fiber and do some aerobic exercise. These two factors will get the gas moving and on its way out. Teas containing star anise, fennel seed, and/or chamomile will encourage the expulsion of gas from your digestive system. Use them after a particularly gassy meal and you will not experience any gas bloating discomfort. Drink them often to avoid the problem altogether.
Now that you know the foods that eliminate water retention or the foods to eat to get rid of water retention or the foods that help water retention, go get those skinny jeans and smile as you zip them up. We hope that you are inspired by this Foods That Combat Water Retention and Bloating post. Happy eating!
