It’s Heart Day! Giving Thanks
I have a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes as I write this post. And honestly I don't know why. Four years ago today, my beautiful, vibrant daughter had open heart...
Well, here we are nearing the end of another year. Isn't it crazy how quickly time flies by? I know this year has especially gone by so quickly for me. It is very common to create resolutions or goals for yourself to achieve within the upcoming year. Do you have fitness goals for the new year? One of the most common resolutions that people choose is to live a healthier lifestyle, or to lose weight, something along these lines. This is not only one of the most commonly chosen resolutions but also one of the most common broken resolutions because people feel as though their appetite is restricted or that they have to be living on this strict diet. I hope that this Healthy New Year's Resolutions post inspires you.
I believe that if you stay strong and work your hardest, you can achieve anything, including living a healthier lifestyle by just making a few simple changes in your everyday life, which will help you keep those New Year's resolutions that you have made. Today, I am going to be talking about some simple changes that you can make to your everyday routine that will make the pounds fall off, and you will be in the best shape of your life.
I cannot stress this enough: water is an essential part of your diet, and you can really never have too much of it. Growing up, I always heard that the recommendation is to drink eight glasses of water per day. More recently, I've come across a different guideline: take your body weight, cut it in half, and drink that much in ounces daily. For example, if someone weighs 100 pounds, they should aim for 50 ounces of water each day.
Water is an excellent way to flush toxins from your body and offers numerous benefits. As you start drinking more water, you might notice that your weight begins to drop, your skin will look healthier and have a beautiful glow, and overall, you'll feel much better.
I have always enjoyed unhealthy comfort foods like mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and French fries. While I love these dishes, I realized they are not good for my body, and it was time to change my eating habits. If you find yourself consuming a lot of heavy and fried side dishes, consider swapping them out for fresh vegetables. For example, if you're craving potato chips as a snack, try eating carrots or celery instead. This way, you'll still get that satisfying crunchy texture while choosing foods that are better for your health.
It's surprising that in today's world, many kids spend so much time indoors playing video games and watching TV. When I was a child, we would play outside with our friends and have so much fun. I encourage you to think back to those days and get outdoors to be active! You might be amazed at how much regular activity can benefit your body. Instead of watching an hour-long TV show, try spending that hour outside for a walk and enjoying nature.
Staying committed to a healthy lifestyle can be difficult on your own. This is why I would recommend finding a friend or family member to commit to that lifestyle with you, and this way, you can keep each other accountable. The last thing you would want to do is to get started on this healthy commitment and then just give it all up for a burger and fries, right?
It's not always easy to make New Year's resolutions stick, yet every year we still try. So if you plan to make getting in shape and healthy a New Year's Resolution this year, be sure to stick with it. Make certain to keep those New Year's resolutions attainable. You would be shocked at how amazing you feel and how much better your life is by simply making healthier choices for your everyday life. I hope that this Healthy New Year's Resolutions post inspires you. Happy New Year, All!
