Planning our trip to Panama City Beach Florida
Believe it or not, I dream of going to the beach. Yes this fair-skinned woman LOVES the beach. I lived on the beach for a while and used to surf years ago (or at least I tried to). I have been snorkeling, paddle boarding, boogie boarding and more. I like being at the beach and then kicking back to relax. Planning our trip to Panama City Beach Florida was exciting for the whole family.
Next weekend, we will be hitting the beaches in none other than Panama City Beach, Florida which is just a short drive from where we live in Atlanta (approx. 5 hours). I have started planning everything using Pinterest. Check out my Panama City Beach Dreaming board:
There are several criteria that I look for when looking to plan a beach vacation for my family. For this trip, I visited visitpanamacitybeach.com to answer these questions:
1. Is it family friendly?
It's a beach. I don't see how it couldn't possibly be. There are mini golf and go kart places everywhere. Even fun places to visit with animals like Zoo World.
2. Is it pet friendly?
This isn't always a deal breaker. Sometimes we board them and other times we want them with us. This time we will be bringing them with us and we want them to be comfortable. We will be visiting the Doggie Beach.
3. What is there to do besides go to the beach?
We look for fun activities that don't take more than a few hours. We are much lazier on vacation and tend to pick out things on the spot. The tab shares places to visit, activities to do and more. I plan to shop a little at Pier Park and the outlets.
4. Are there good, local restaurants?
This is an absolute must. I want seafood and good drinks when I am at the beach. I want my kids to be entertained without having to pay a fortune.
One quick visit to the Restaurants tab on visitpanamacitybeach.com provides me with a list of restaurants to check out. Our first visit will be to Schooner's which is one of our favorite places in PCB.
5. Should we go with a vacation house or a hotel?
We go back and forth on this depending on who is coming along. This year we opted for a hotel that accepts pets. We wanted more amenities and less having to do everything ourselves. We booked a 2-bedroom villa after visiting the Places to Stay tab. I was thrilled to find a reasonable pet fee and a place that looks like it has it all.
