DIY Valentine’s Day Chalkboard Treat Bucket

Supplies

• Clay flower pot (any size will do)
• Chalkboard spray paint
• Assorted holiday ribbon
• Valentine’s Day embellishments such as stickers, foam cut outs
• Chalk
• Craft glue

Most of these items can be found at your local craft supply store. You can create some similar to our sample picture, or take the concept and create something unique to your own likes. Be creative!

Directions

1. Begin by placing the flower pot on a piece of newspaper. Place is so the wide mouth end is facing down.

2. Give the pot two coats of chalkboard paint. Allow some drying time in between each coat.

3. Once the paint is dry (allow at minimum one hour) cut a length of ribbon to fit around the top of the pot. Attach the ribbon to the pot securely with glue.

4. Now you can add your embellishments. Leave the center front of the pot bare as that is where you will write on the pot. Attach stickers or foam shapes to the sides of the pot for an extra pop of color.

5. Using a piece of chalk, you can write a simple XOXO as we did, or you can even write the names of your guests on them. It is such an easy way to add a personal touch to this piece!

6. Fill the pot with treats of your choice. We used conversation hearts, but you are welcome to use chocolate kisses, suckers, hard candy, or any candy of your choice. You can even opt for non candy options, such as a small potted plant if you wish.
