Upcycled K Cup Peacocks Craft

Supplies

• clean, empty k cups
• Rust-Oleum Painters Touch teal spray paint (this bonds to plastic)
• craft feathers
• googly eyes
• yellow craft foam
• hot glue gun
• hot glue sticks

Directions

1. Remove foil top from k cup. You may need to use a utility knife if there is still foil left. Recycle the grounds, wash the Kcup pods with dish soap and dry thoroughly.
2. Place cups opening side down on newspaper in a well ventilated space.
3. Spray with one light coat of paint to create a tack coat. Dry for 5 minutes before adding another
4. 1-2 coats to cover well. Dry final coat for an hour before continuing decorating.
5. Hot glue 3-4 feathers on the back of your cup and 1 or 2 inside if desired for a full bushy tail.
6. Add details like googly eyes, and a beak cut from yellow craft foam.

These fun and colorful peacocks are a great way to serve up a treat to little ones- popcorn, jelly beans, nuts, pretzel sticks, cereal, Skittles or any other small treat that will fit. They are a great way to squeeze a little more use out of the empty cups that would otherwise be tossed in the trash. Once cleaned and decorated the cups make the perfect size for a little treat to share with the class, surprise neighbors, or while the kids are watching tv.
