Have you heard of eneloop batteries from Panasonic? eneloop is a rechargeable battery product line from Panasonic Energy Corporation of America that has really revolutionized how people use batteries. According to metaefficient.com (February 20, 2015), eneloop has the ‘Best Rechargeable Batteries and Chargers of 2015’. eneloop batteries were launched in 2005 with a very simple idea in mind; provide people with a battery that could be recharged over and over again (actually up to 2,100 times) and to make it really easy to use for work, play and everything in between.

THE TECHNICAL STUFF
Professional: eneloop pro batteries are also available and deliver higher levels of power than their regular eneloop counterparts. eneloop pro AA 2550mAh versus regular eneloop at 2000mAh, and eneloop pro AAA 950mAh versus regular eneloop at 800mAh.
Battery Chargers: The Panasonic CC17, 4-position Ni-MH battery charger delivers advanced, individual cell charging capabilities. Ideal for use at home, in the office, or on the road, this Panasonic CC17 charger is a convenient way to recharge any combination of up to four AA or AAA Ni-MH eneloop, eneloop pro, or conventional Panasonic Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. The CC17 charger also features 4 LED charge indicator lights and a retractable AC plug.
Recharger Adapters: eneloop “C” and “D” size adapters allow eneloop AA batteries to be inserted and utilized in “C” and “D” size battery device applications. The battery cells maintain their original eneloop AA cell performance characteristics including 2000mAh typical, 2100 recharges, and will hold 70% of their charge for up to 10 years, (when not in use)*.
Technology: eneloop batteries utilize a highly-durable super lattice alloy, which prolongs the life of this important material. Improvements to this super-lattice alloy have increased hydrogen stability resulting in reduced self-discharge and long lasting, stable voltage output. Improvements to the conductive surface layer of the active (positive) electrode material (made primarily from nickel-metal hydride) produce greater conductivity and durability. By limiting the degradation of the conductive layer increases the number of times that eneloop batteries can be recharged, up to 2100 times.

I’m a professional photographer and you are right that the rechargeable batteries have more energy than the counterpart – I love rechargeable batteries and these are also really pretty – I’ll need to restock for my upcoming season. I never thought about using them for headphones so I’ll need to get a few AAA for them!
