Tequila Sunrise Cocktail Drink Recipe
Makes 1 serving | Prep time 5 minutes
Ingredients
1.5 ounces of tequila (44ml)
4 ounces of orange juice (120ml) *we suggest Simply Orange because we LOVE it!
1.5 tbsp of grenadine (15ml) *this is what provides the red color in a tequila sunrise
Stir together tequila and orange juice in a shaker. Pour into the glass.
Slowly pour the grenadine. Don’t stir. Let the grenadine settle at the bottom. If you want to keep the sunrise effect shown in our pictures it’s really important not to stir the grenadine before serving. No shaking either.
Beverage Notes
Need to prepare it in advance? Don’t add the ice cubes and prepare the cocktail as mentioned. Don’t stir the grenadine. Store the glass in the fridge for a couple of hours. Need a mocktail? Omit the tequila for an alcohol free tequila sunrise. What is grenadine? Grenadine is a non-alcoholic syrup. It can be replaced with strawberry syrup. Use a thick syrup, otherwise, the grenadine won’t settle at the bottom.
