// Comments Off on Sunset of Summer ~ Take Summer with You
Summer 2014 with Alamo has been great. I have had such a fun time as part of Alamo's Chief Travel Moms as we’ve helped moms plan, experience, and capture great travel moments along the way. As the summer comes to a close, and with the start of school in sight, we want to squeeze as much fun as possible into the final days, the sunset, of summer.
Although going back to school is a lot of fun for my kids and they really look forward to it, I get a little sad because it means that we don't get to travel as much.
TIPS ON ON HOW TO TAKE SUMMER WITH YOU
1. PRINT THE PICTURES
The picture above was printed out as soon as we got back from the trip. We always print and frame a few pictures from our travels so that we can remember the good times. Every time I walk through my house and see these pictures I remember the trips.
2. PLAN ONE LAST TRIP
We love the beach and so once school starts, we try to plan one last trip in a final attempt to hold onto summer. We usually do this during the first time the kids have off from school.
3. GO SWIMMING, GO TO THE LAKE OR HEAD TO A LOCAL FESTIVAL
These things always feel like summer to me so we try to do them a few times during the fall since we have a pretty mild fall here in Georgia. In fact, this was us at the lake last October:
4. GET FUN SOUVENIERS
Every time we go to the beach, we pick out a shell and add it our collection at home. We have a beautiful, large glass jar displayed in our family room with pieces of every beach we have traveled to.
Angela says:“Turn any end-of-summer family vacation into an exciting treasure hunt by going on a geocaching adventure. The Geomate Jr. Geocaching GPS will help you locate and find caches all over the United States.”
Liz says: “Your treasured travel memories will stay with you forever when you preserve them by making your own unique and special beach charm necklace.”
Crissy says: “Have kids that want to do different things? Take advantage of your final trip of the summer by splitting up to take on different adventures with the kids, but stay in touch quickly and easily to keep each other updated.”

Stacie says: “Take these binoculars along on that last summer trip to see everything in a different perspective. Don’t miss a thing, and catch all of the details!”
Jennifer says: “This WiFi-enabled smart camera is perfect for sharing your end-of-summer summer adventures with your family and friends back home in real time!”
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS BOX
This is one of my favorite boxes from the entire campaign. My kids were thrilled about the Geomate Jr. Geocaching GPS because we just learned about geocaching this summer. We decided to try some geocaching this fall and have a trip planned so we will definitely be using this!
My daughters comandeered the Ocean Charms: DIY Jewelry Kit to make jewelry. We took a beach trip this summer and they made necklaces for their cousins. The girls love this kit.
The Motorola MR350R 35-Mile Range 22-Channel FRS/GMRS Two-Way Radios are absolutely fabulous. We went mountain biking last weekend and camped out. We were able to stay in contact the entire time by using these walkie talkies. They are a great way to give kids a little freedom by still keep in contact with them.
Now the Bushnell H2O Waterproof/Fogproof Roof Prism Binoculars were my pick and I added these because I think that everyone really needs a pair of binoculars if they are going to travel. We took ours with us to New York City a few weeks ago and loved using them around Times Square. We also used them in Central Park and had such a great time seeing things that we might not have otherwise seen.
The Samsung Smart WiFi Digital Camera is the perfect addition. I am constantly taking pictures and I don't always remember to upload them to my computer. This camera can now do that for me and that means I will always have my pictures with me.
