South by South West – SXSW From Film & Music to Technology & Business

There is a really great conference going on right now. The SXSW Music + Film Interactive started as something devoted to film and music but has branched out to so much more.

From the site:

The South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conferences & Festivals offer the unique convergence of original music, independent films, and emerging technologies. Fostering creative and professional growth alike, SXSW is the premier destination for discovery.

The 18th Annual South by South West conference begins tomorrow, March 11, 2011 in Austin, Texas and goes through March 20. I have been thinking about attending for the past couple of years and I am particularly interested in the Business at SXSW sessions.

You can still register for the conference. Get answers to the frequently asked questions in SXSW 101.

I love South by Southwest and all the new music and bands I discover during this festival-I’ve never been to the conference but this is one of my favorite events of the year.

I have never been but have heard so much about it. I would be so thrilled to be able to go as I used to work in book publishing and film, and technology is one of my passions. Unfortunately I’m nowhere near Texas. I try to check out ones nearby whenever possible – east coast 🙂
