Pay-It-Forward with Pampers

In celebration of its 50th birthday, Pampers is recognizing how much parenting has changed over the years, and is sharing their belief that every baby is a little miracle that deserves to be celebrated, supported and protected, by unveiling its Little Miracle Mission campaign – a program that delivers acts of kindness to miracles and their families while encouraging parents to support others.

The brand recently kicked off the Little Miracle Missions campaign by delivering a giant act of support –donating care packages to Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) across the country. Celebs Joey Lawrence , Ali Larter, Mark Consuelos and LaLa Anthonywere on-hand in New York City to personally deliver a care package and thank you basket to Mt. Sinai Hospital and their staff.

The public can easily participate in the Miracles Missions programs, and support little miracles across the country, by logging on to Pampers Facebook page (Facebook.com/Pampers). Pampers is also asking everyone to pay-it-forward by participating in the first Little Miracle Mission- to congratulate and offer support to an expectant mother with a gift or surprise gesture. Once more than 2,500 people pledge that they have achieved this mission, Pampers will respond by giving baby showers to expectant mothers nationwide just in time for Mother’s Day. Pampers will issue different missions throughout the entire year to celebrate all aspects of parenthood, and with the help of parents, family and friends, they hope to touch the lives of every baby born in the next year.

Yesterday we made brownies and took them the NICU unit and surgery waiting area of a local hospital. My kids and I made the brownies and took them over to give them to staff and parents. We have been in the NICU unit and surgeries waiting areas several times. Too many times to count. There is nothing comforting about being there.

So my kids and I made it our mission to bring a little happiness. We delivered over 500 homemade brownies to staff and parents. A little comfort food. It was an amazing experience to pay-it-forward.

Want to get involved in these random acts of kindness, too? Now, one reader of The Divine Miss Mommy can win$50 Visa Gift Card to challenge yourself to complete the same mission. How can you give back and pay-it-forward?

Some ideas we’ve heard is to use the money to purchase diapers for a family who could use them, use the money to prepare meals for a family, or even use the money to host a larger fundraiser for a family. We’d love to see your creativity come to life!

I’d buy some essential items and put together bags of them and distribute to the university housing at NC State University where they are housing tornado victims.

  2. Like Shelly above me, I live in North Carolina and would want to donate diapers and wipes to moms affected by the tornadoes.

Another North Carolinian, I can do the same thing. Between coupons and sales I regularly score free/nearly free health and beauty items (I haven’t paid for shampoo or deodorant in YEARS), diapers and wipes. I would put this towards purchasing these items (coupons, and the OOP).

I normally donate these to the local food bank but I could drop off these items @ NC State instead. My son goes to school there and even he has been inspired to volunteer with the cleanup effort.

I recently heard from a church friend that one of our members suffers from cancer. This is just so heartbroken, she is a single mom with one toddler and a 7 yr old. I’d like to give her, hopefully with coupons help to stretch $50, several gift baskets with all necessities and groceries.

Our area of TN just experienced horrible storms and tornadoes. Many people lost everything. I would donate food and necessities to those affected. I would involve my kids by taking them with me to buy the items.

  64. oh i love this pay it forward post. I help in my community my volunteering when I can. I volunteer to help the public school kindergarten class. I volunteer to mentor a YMCA club at the local high school. I also encourage my friends and family to donate when they can. and I recently learned about Cookies 4 Kids and think a lot of people in the community would love to help if someone just gets the ball rolling~ 🙂

Honestly Stacie, our family has been hit hard with my health issues, hubby cut to half time, and now some other family things coming at us…umm…like a (SurPRISe!!) new baby here in October. So, I feel really bad that for years we have been unable to give of our time or funds. But I do have kids that do volunteer as church projects. Helping mostly the elderly with outdoor work or doing cards for the pastor to send out to shut-ins or those who are ill. I dont have anything creative to come up with to help (as it’s 4:30 AM and am brain fried from insomnia), but I would simply turn this card into a gas card for a family in need. We were just discussing this the other day. My nephew’s little girl was born last spring at 27 weeks …only 1lb and 10 oz. She is doing REALLY well, but I wondered HOW in the world these parents driving in from nearby cities and sometimes from HOURS away can pay for gas to drive in to see their babies every day. Most have to work. I am thinking that it would be nice to raise money for gas cards for these parents. I cant even imagine the miles they rack up going to and from the NICU ‘s for weeks and often months. How can they go through the stress and worry of a very tiny or sick baby and have to think about costs such as these too? so sad…

I would rather buy supplies for the victims of the recent tornadoes in the south and use coupons paired with deals to get the most out of $50 to send to them. Those people are in serious need. :/ Hope this counts.

I’d love to use this to have my kids buy dog food for our local dog rescue shelter. They go every week to help walk the dogs, and I know they’d love to bring some food and treats for their favorite dogs. The only downside to them doing this I have to listen to them beg to adopt another dog every time they go.
