Iced Sugar Cookies

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Pompeian Grapeseed Oil Spray.

We love baking for the holidays and the best thing that we make is sugar cookies. My kids love rolling out dough, using cookie cutters and then icing the cookies. My son's favorite part is adding the sprinkles.

This year we added Pompeian Grapeseed Oil Spray to the mix and it made things soooo much easier.

ABOUT POMPEIAN GRAPESEED OIL

Pompeian imports 100% of its Grapeseed Oil from France. Its light flavor comes from delicate wine grapes, preserving the flavor of food. It’s perfect for stir frying, deep frying, sautéing and baking.

Grapeseed Oil is also a rich source of Vitamin E and antioxidants.

Grapeseed Oil is an all-natural cooking oil known for its high smoke point, a characteristic that makes it an ideal choice for stir-frying and deep frying. And because of its high fluidity, it reduces excess oil from absorbing into the food.

ICED SUGAR COOKIES RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

1 Cup Butter
2 Cups Sugar
3 Eggs
1 tsp baking soda
4 1/2 cups Flour
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp Pompeian Grapeseed Oil

DIRECTIONS

1) Cream together butter, sugar, eggs, soda, oil and salt. Add in vanilla and mix well.

2) Mix in flour and chill in refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

3) Sprinkle flour on your cutting surface and roll out dough to about 1/4 inch in thickness. I use Pompeian Grapeseed Oil spray on my hands before cutting the dough.

4) Cut with cookie cutters, spray baking sheet with Pompeian Grapeseed Oil, place cookies on pan and bake at 350 degrees for 8-11 minutes.

5) Let cookies cool completely before adding icing.

Sugar Cookie Glaze (Icing) Ingredients:

1 cup Powdered Sugar
4 tsp Milk
Directions:

1) Mix well with fork. (For more of a thin glaze use more milk, to make it thicker like an icing add more powdered sugar).

2) If you would like a sparkly finish you can add sugar crystals to the top of the icing (I used silver). Just make sure you add them quickly before the icing hardens.
