Did you know that there is a right way to your hands? That's right. There really is a proper way to wash your hands. I wasn't really aware of this until I had children. I am pretty much a fanatic when it comes to washing hands these days. I know that in this house, my hands are in everything. The same goes for the rest of my family. In a single day, I might handle: money, linens, food, drinks, the car and so much more.
You never know what could be on your hands so it is always a safe bet to wash your hands when in doubt. We also stress to our kids to wash your hands every time you use the bathroom, handle food, care for someone who is sick, blow your nose, cough, sneeze, or touch animals or garbage.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that handwashing is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your family from getting sick. Here are five steps that you should follow to wash your hands the right way each and every time.
With clean, running water (we suggest room temperature but hot or cold is fine) wet your hands. Turn off the tap and apply soap.
Lather your hands by rubbing them together with soap. Make certain to lather well between your fingers, under your nails and the backs of your hands.
Scrub your hands for around 20 seconds. Need a timer? An easy rule of thumb is to hum the “Happy Birthday” song from beginning to end twice.
Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.
Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them.
Softsoap® knows that you can help protect your family by ensuring that everyone washes their hands often. e have taught our kids how to wash their hands properly..
Softsoap® Antibacterial Hand Soap’s unique formula, with moisturizers, leaves your skin feeling soft and protected. It is clinically proven to eliminate 99.9% of bacteria*
Is Softsoap® Antibacterial Hand Soap effective? Softsoap contains Benzalkonium Chloride (BKC) in a formula that provides Antibacterial protection and is gentle on hands. The (BKC) formula leaves a barrier of protection on your skin that helps inhibit bacterial growth for hours after washing, providing long-lasting antibacterial protection.
The recent ban by the FDA did not affect Softsoap Antibacterial Hand Soap as it does not contain any of the restricted antibacterial ingredients. Softsoap antibacterial liquid soaps are safe and all of their ingredients meet strict safety standards.
