Goodwill of North Georgia is celebrating their 90th birthday and 90 years of putting people to work in North Georgia! When you stop at Goodwill of North Georgia, all proceeds help to support the mission of putting people to work. This year Goodwill will help 20,000 people in North Georgia find jobs.
Last week I had the opportunity to attend the local fashion event called RE2URRECTION put together by Goodwill of North Georgia and The2econdFloor. The event featured local fashion bloggers and designers who designed outfits to raise funds.
The RE2URRECTION fashion show featured a group of talented, up-and-coming fashion designers and artists who will breathe new life into a variety of clothing found hanging on racks at Goodwill’s stores. They were each given $50 to spend in their local Goodwill store and the challenge was to design a Rockstar Glam outfit.
To raise funds, all of the transformed pieces were first showcased on the runway and then they were auctioned off to benefit Goodwill of North Georgia’s mission to put people to work.
This fun event was attended by over 300 business leaders and community members. The crowd was excited and engaged. The outfits were impressive and extremely creative. I have a great time.
Since Goodwill stores are such a great place to find fashion at affordable prices, I could tell that these designers really had a lot to work with. I saw sequins, leather, lace, silk and so much more. It was great to see so many textures and colors combined.

I didn’t know that Goodwill has been around that long! WOW! That is awesome! The fashion show looks like it was a hit.
I love Goodwill, and I think this is an awesome idea! Exposure for up and coming fashion designers, as well as bringing attention to the mission of Goodwill. I would have loved to be there!

We were just at a Goodwill this past weekend looking for pieces to make a Halloween costume. We donate both items and money to them, they help a lot of people.

We have a very nice Goodwill in our town. I’ve found great deals there on clothing in like new shape, some items with tags still on them, and a set of golf clubs for my son in Special Olympics for just $10!
What a cool concept for a fashion show. Even for a thrift store a budget of $50 is pretty lean. I’m amazed at what they created!
Wonderful organization that has helped for so long. Love this show to bring awareness for this cause.
I love all of the outfits that they put together! We just donated a ton of stuff to Goodwill!
I wonder if my in-laws knew about this? They are in Georgia and enjoy going to things like this!
