Guide to Replacing Your Makeup
Guide to Replacing Your Makeup I think we all know how much of a total makeup junkie that I am. I will definitely admit that, no problem. When you have such a big makeup...
DID YOU KNOW? On average, American women use 12 personal care products per day which exposes them to up to 126 unique chemical ingredients on a daily basis.
Skin is…a penetrable organ that can easily absorb chemicals, especially with repeat exposure, many of the harmful ingredients found in cosmetics have been linked to cancer, infertility, and hormonal dysfunction.
Some sunscreen chemicals…behave like estrogens and have been shown to make some breast cancer cells proliferate. Parabens are a group of cosmetics preservatives, including butylparaben, propylparaben, methylparaben, and ethylparaben. Some parabens are classified as endocrine disruptors because they mimic estrogen in the body. Higher estrogen exposures are linked to higher risk of breast cancer. We hope that you find this Emani Minerals Love Collection post useful.
I have a nine-year-old son and one of his favorite shows is Billy the Exterminator. Several months ago, we were watching an episode and Billy said that mascara was made from guano or bat droppings. I was so disgusted to hear that and immediately jumped on the internet to find out more.
While I was able to gather some information about mascara and learn that it was not made from guano or dung, I was kind of grossed out to learn that mascara contains the crystalline form of guanine (Spanish for guano which does indeed mean dung). Guanine which is used in the cosmetics industry as a colorant or an opacifying agent (think light and shimmer) is commonly found in conditioner, shampoo, nail products, cleansing products, fragrances, bath products, skin care products and more. Guanine is made from fish scales.
What really got me is that for the longest time, I didn't care or even bother to look what went into the products I bought and put on my face or body. There is a total yuck factor with me about fish scales being in products I put on my face or body.
As a result, I have become a bit of a label reader. I want to know exactly what I am putting on my skin or in my hair. In my quest for more natural products, I have discovered some amazing brands. One of those brands is EMANI.
pronounced ‘e-man-nee'
EMANI was established in 1998 with one simple purpose in mind; to provide a line of clean cosmetics that meet and exceed the high standards of the professional makeup industry and at the same time, promotes a healthy complexion for all women.
EMANI gives a new twist to the perception of natural makeup…By using the naturally occurring minerals, organic extracts and pigments, and by keeping our products free of talc, paraben, gluten and harsh chemicals, we at EMANI have created a line of non-comedogenic, nature-based makeup that not only works with your skin and supports its natural vitality, but also feels luxurious and looks glamorous with beautiful finishes that are long lasting…Products are cruelty free, vegan friendly and PETA Certified.
This makeup is amazing! Truly. I made the switch years ago to mineral makeup and I had no clue until trying EMANI that mineral makeup could create such flawless skin without using a ton of different products. I have been able to cut back on my application time and the amount of stuff I have to use for that finished look. You know the one…looking polished without looking overdone. You can do all of that and more with the EMANI Minerals Love Collection.
I am addicted to the Organic Lip Shine. In fact, I have almost used the entire thing in just a few weeks. My two daughters love it too. It smells like vanilla and adds the perfect amount of shine without looking too glossy or even being too sticky. All of three of us reach for it constantly.
The Organic Soy Mascara made my lashes look full and dark which I always love in a good mascara. It doesn't have that medicinal smell, lasts all day and never smudged on me once.
The Feeling Loved Bronzer made my skin look amazing. What I loved was that I could just use this product and go. There was no need to apply three diferent things to get my skin to look smooth and flawless. I also loved that it is a pressed powder that was easy to throw in my purse and re-apply as needed. Don't get me wrong, I still use the three or four products when I go out at night or when I am attending an event but for my everyday, constantly on-the-go life, this product really simplified my makeup routine.
The Feeling Mischevious Mosaic Eyeshadow is about one of the coolest things I have seen in a while. Lots of pigment and lots of dimensions let you put this on light or go darker for a smokier look. I loved playing around with this one.
The Feeling Divine Trio Eyeshadow lets me use on color for an easy, everyday look or three colors to add a little more drama. Either way, they complimented my blue eyes perfectly.
The EMANI products were items that I felt good about using on my skin plus they looked good as well.
“If you’re a nature lover – you’re going to love Emani Minerals. The packaging is made from 100% recycled paper and the ingredients are all natural and organic. Their products are also gluten and vegan friendly…this loose mineral shadow was great quality. It was really light and blends amazingly – but still provided a pretty intense pop of pigment.” Beauty Debutante

Since using the Mineral Foundation, I have received many compliments on my skin and the appearance of my rosacea has diminished dramatically…Emani is not just a complexion brand: the pigment-rich, long-lasting formulations extend to cheeks, eyes, and lips…. Beauty News NYC

Sometimes with more organic brands you compromise on them not being so luxurious. This is not the case I found out with Emani. The Organic Lip Shine was GREAT, it went on smooth and didn’t have a sticky feeling like most glosses do… Behind the Lashes
