Supplies

• 8×10 frame
• White yarn
• Cardboard (we used an empty cereal box)
• scissors
• hot glue gun
• hot glue sticks
• pencil
• bobby pin (optional)
• Star pattern (printed and cut out) You only need one star, but there are several on the pattern because you'll need more if you're having a craft party!
• Sweet Land of Liberty Printable – printed and trimmed to 8×10

Directions

• • 1. Place your star template/pattern onto cardboard and trace with a pencil. Cut out the cardboard star.
    2. Begin by wrapping the star with yarn. Wrap a few in the center of the yarn and hold it tight with your finger. Begin wrapping each point of the star. You'll need to wrap it about three times around, then place some hot glue on the back to get those pieces of yarn to stick. Wrap three more and add more glue. Continue until the tip is completely covered with yarn.
    3. Carry the yarn over to the next star tip and repeat the process to completely cover each tip.
    4. Wrap the center of the yarn by winding three strands and switching directions. Repeating until the entire star is covered. You won't need any hot glue until you're finished. When you're finished, cut the string and affix it to the back with hot glue.
    5. Note: on the star tips, the yarn will want to “walk” to the point of the star. I found that the yarn held tight for about three wrappings and then began to slip, that's why I added hot glue after three wrappings.
    6. To assemble: Place your sweet land of liberty printable on a flat surface. Center star and attach with a large dollop of hot glue. Open the frame and remove the backing and glass. Place the printable in the frame and put the glass behind it and the frame parts. Close frame and display.
    7. To display a single star (the blue one): Open a bobby pin by pulling it apart. Thread it through the yarn and it will stand up on the table.
