Located within Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, Disney's Art of Animation Resort is one of the newest hotels at Disney World.
Each of four distinctly designed wings celebrates rich storytelling, spirited characters, original sketches and playfulness with colorful icons and whimsical theming inspired by classic Disney and Disney•Pixar films. The three-story, value resort – now complete — began its phased opening May 31, 2012.
Three family suite wings showcase “Finding Nemo” with 320 suites, “Cars” with 480 suites, and “The Lion King” with 320 suites. All the themed areas offer elaborate storytelling both inside and out, from each beloved film depicted. Standard guest rooms make up “The Little Mermaid” wing, the final phase that opened Sept. 15 with 864 rooms.
Here, you can find the Lion King Family Suites, Cars, Finding Nemo Family Suites and Little Mermaid Standard Rooms. Most rooms are family suites specious enough to accommodate families of six and many feature two full baths, living rooms, master bedrooms, cable television and mini refrigerators.
For your dining pleasure, you will find food courts serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Traditional American menu items can be found to suit hearty appetites, such as pizza and burgers as well as healthy food items such as soups and salads.
Friendly concierge service located in the main lobby can help you purchase tickets to a theme park or show or reserve a table at the restaurant of your choice. They can also supply maps of the area if you choose to walk from one attraction to another or if you would like to take the 1.38 mile walking and jogging trail.
Accommodations also include pizza delivery, babysitting services, valet parking and laundry and dry cleaning facilities. Among additional amenities offered are playgrounds, arcades, swimming pools and outdoor movie theaters. Transportation to and from the hotel resort is complimentary as well and serves most of Disney's attraction destinations, such as the Magic Kingdom theme park, Epcot theme park, Hollywood Studios theme park, water parks and the Downtown Disney area.
Shoppers can browse the Ink and Paint Shop located in the Animation Hall building for Disney memorabilia items and travel essentials. There is also plenty of shopping in Downtown Disney as well as dining options.
The hotel resort is also completely handicapped-accessible and service animals are also allowed throughout the resort. Wheelchairs are provided by the hotel resort on a first-come, first served basis. Therefore, the hotel resort recommends that guests bring their own wheelchairs.
