Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express

There are many benefits to card membership, but one of the most valuable features is “First Bag Free.”  This feature allows Basic Cardmembers with a Gold, Platinum, or Reserve Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express to check their first bag for free on all Delta and Delta Connection® flights.

The benefit applies to up to nine people traveling in the eligible Cardmember’s reservation.  That’s a savings of up to $50 per person on a round-trip ticket or $200 for a family of four.  This benefit will certainly provide value  during the busy spring and summer travel months.

Here are some other card benefits:

·       Cardmembers earn 20,000 miles after their first purchase on the Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card. Plus, up to another 5,000 bonus miles when two Additional Cardmembers are added to the account.

·       Delta and American Express will waive the annual fee for the first year of card membership, a savings of $95 for the Gold Delta SkyMiles Credit Card.

·       Cardmembers earn card double miles on Delta purchases and 1 mile for all other eligible dollars spent.

·       The “Pay With Miles” feature allows cardmembers to start redeeming miles with as few as 10,000 miles for $100 off a Delta ticket, with no blackout date or seat restrictions.

·       There is no cap on miles earned.

·       The online application provides approval confirmation within one minute.

    We always thought the whole DISNEY thing would be our kids most favored, treasured trip…for 3 of them it was the first time flying. But it turns out, our kids had WAY more fun at a summer cabin trip a few years ago that included our entire family! We fished and had campfires, went into town one night for dinner, & cooked REALLY great dinners on the grill. We played cards and watched movies together. It was full of incredible memories of family CLOSENESS, no big crazy schedules, running to airports, or shopping, and was only 3 hours by van. My daughter wrote a very sweet story at school about her very best vacation and THIS was the trip she wrote about. We learned that fancy trips planned out for months, saving or practically wiping out our bank account is NO match for comfort, coziness and just taking some quiet time by a lake and watching a sunset or laughing til your bellies hurt during table talk. We want to do it again soon but have a baby coming into the family this late summer, early fall. Maybe NEXT year!

    This summer were going to take our first disneyland trip. I always like to bring lots of sunscreen snacks and a few new cheap toys like, books, coloring books a game etc.. so they have something fun and new they can do to keep them occupied.

    We took a two week family road trip through ND, WY, MO, and SD, hitting Yellowstone and the Black Hills and lots of other cool things along the way, when I was about 8 years old. I had so much fun and have so many great memories from it! This year, I’m planning on taking my kids, 7 and 8 on the same route we drove 25 years ago! Can’t wait!

    My best family vacation was two years ago when my daughter MaKayla was two. As a child my family never took us kids on vacation- it just was not realistic. Vacation was foreign to me. But my in-laws paid for our entire family to go to Disney World. It was a special time. I shared my first vacation with my daugter on her first vacation. My husband and I enjoyed every minute watching her soak in the magic of Disney World. It was certainly priceless.

    My best family vacation was a family trip to North Dakota to see where my Grandfather migrated from Norway. It was awesome to see the little school house (in the middle of NOWHERE) such a different way of life it was for them. My tip would be to bring pillows for long car rides…can get uncomfortable 😉

    The best trip I’ve taken is with my 3 daughters to Disneyworld for my oldest daughter’s high school graduation. We went to the Epcot Center, MGM Studios, Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom and lots of nice restaurants.

    The best family vacation that I ever took was when my parents rented a cottage at the beach and my husband and I went, along with my sister and her family. We had such a good time, with all of us together in the house that was right on the beach.

    My best travel tip: If you are traveling with friends and it is a car trip and you all decide to pack a cooler rather than stop to buy food, talk to each other about what you are bringing. We didn’t and we ended up with 18 hard boiled eggs for 3 people.
