The Definitive Technology W system makes it a snap starting off with their W7 speaker in any room. It is a cube-shaped compact powered speaker that provides surprisingly big sound.

Once it is connected to their Wi-Fi network, the Definitive Technology W7 Audiophile-Grade Wireless Speaker can be controlled with a tablet or smartphone. This enables people to enjoy a wealth of music in minutes. Add more components or speakers to play different songs in each room or stream the same tune everywhere in party mode. The only hard part is deciding what song to play next.

TABLET AND SMARTPHONE COMPATIBLE

The Definitive Technology W7 Audiophile-Grade Wireless Speaker offers lots of ways to listen to music. A free app for Android and Apple devices is a person’s hub for accessing music on their tablet or smartphone. Aside from that, they can stream music from networked music servers and computers. There is also a built-in support for Sirius XM and Pandora Internet radio. Aside from delivering a strong and punchy sound, the Definitive Technology W7 Audiophile-Grade Wireless Speaker has a unique tri-polar design that features drivers on three sides. This enables it to evenly distribute accurate, clear sound across a wide soundstage.

The four tweeters also ensure that a person gets a lot of detail from different listening angles. On the other hand, the four-inch dual passive radiators and mid/bass driver throw plenty of tight bass.

PLAY-FI

The key to the W7’s wireless capability is Play-Fi. DTS developed this feature that allows a person to send the same song to multiple speakers, let each member of the family control speakers independently with their own device or play a different song in every room.

Best of all, with this feature, the W7 can work with Play-Fi speakers from other manufacturers. People can match and mix different brands of wireless speakers. At CD quality, Play-Fi can transmit lossless audio to up to a maximum of 16 components and speakers on a person’s network.

It can also play multiple video and audio formats such as wav, mp3, m4a, free lossless audio codec and advanced audio coding. The W7 can also transmit hi-resolution files, but it does down-sample them so that they can be distributed throughout a home.

SOFTWARE UPDATES

In the spirit of improving the functionality and performance of the W7, Definitive Technology offers software updates for this product. People can download these updates after they have registered their W7 during the setup process. All they have to do is scroll down to Aficionado Services on the home page and follow the instructions.
