Camp Omni for Kids at Omni Hotels

My family travels a lot. As a blogger and travel writer, I find myself frequently taking weekend trips as we love to check out great places to stay that are close to home.

One thing that I always look for in any hotel that we are staying at for more than one night is the kid friendly aspect. Number one on my kid's list is a pool. If there is a pool, then they are happy.

However, my oldest is somewhat of an explorer. He loves to check out whatever place we are staying and see what else they have for him to do. This past weekend, we stayed at the Omni Hotel here in downtown Atlanta.

Omni Hotels & Resorts was included in Parents “10 Best Hotel Chains for Families” list, recognizing the various programs offered to traveling families at hotel chains across the U.S. The luxury brand is best known for the Omni Sensational Kids program, which includes a unique, “Discovery” welcome backpack with a 32-page fold-out map including travel games, crayons, magnifying glass and more. In addition to the fun-filled bag, children staying at Omni are treated to milk and cookies on their first night, a great way to end a day of adventures and exploring. An additional family travel offering is the Omni Kids’ Suites, which feature one-of-a-kind designs with colorful children’s furniture and bedding, beanbag chairs, games, books, an art center and other activities in their own guest room – with parents in a connecting guest room (available at select properties).

Luxurious comfort embraces pure style at the elegant, four-diamond Omni Hotel at CNN Center. Located in the heart of downtown Atlanta within the bustling Luckie Marietta District , this luxury hotel treats you to views of the spectacular downtown skyline or picturesque Centennial Olympic Park.

The Omni Hotel at CNN Center is connected to Philips Arena and the Georgia World Congress Center, and it is the nearest hotel to the Georgia Dome.  There are 1,070 luxury non-smoking guest rooms and suites plus a Natural Body Spa.

The Omni Hotel at CNN Center is one of Atlanta, Georgia's premiere hotels. Found right in the heart of Atlanta in the Luckie Marietta district, the hotel is a short distance from the Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport and the Georgia Dome. It is also connected to both the Philips Arena and the Georgia World Congress Center.

The Omni Hotel offers a wide range of dining choices, including a full restaurant, a bar and lounge, and a coffee shop. Room service is also available in each of the 1,070 rooms, as is wireless internet. In addition, Natural Body Spa is located in the North Tower of the hotel and is available seven days a week for both hotel guests and visitors. The spa offers a variety of services, including facials, waxing and massages.

There are also several levels of accommodations offered. The Omni Suite and the Presidential Suite are the most luxurious, with over 2,000 square feet of space and multiple rooms each. A deluxe room is the standard room offered and it includes an armchair, desk and spacious bathroom.

Space at the hotel can also be rented for everything from a wedding to a business meeting. There are 45 meeting rooms available to rent at the hotel. These range in style from luxurious boardrooms to a rooftop glass-enclosed atrium to a 19,864 square foot ballroom. Catering services are offered by the hotel with a wide variety of menus.

There are a multitude of additional hotel features, including a heated pool, a health club, a gift shop, same day dry cleaning and laundry service, and translation services. Small pets are also welcome for an additional fee. For added security guests can choose to leave valuables in the front desk safe. Guests can feel comfortable that all their needs will be taken care of at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center.

Check in was quick and easy. In less than five minutes, we were headed up to our room. Our family had adjoining rooms. A king room for myself and my husband with a double room for the kids. The rooms were well appointed with luxurious linens and included plush robes that my children enjoyed wearing.

Within 15 minutes of checkin, there was a knock on our door. We were given the cheese and fruit tray below along with some hand written notes welcoming us to the hotel.

A few minutes later there was another knock on the door and the treats below were delivered for our children who were literally screaming in delight .

We had dinner in the restaurant that evening and while dinner was a little long for my taste (over two hours), we really enjoyed ourselves and the food.

We were invited to the hotel so that my family and I could check out Camp Omni. One of my concerns at any hotel is will there be enough for my kids to do. At the Omni, along with the pool, they offer Camp Omni.

Camp Omni takes family vacations to a whole new level, offering deluxe accommodations, 15% discount when you stay two nights, kids’ gift cards to be redeemed anywhere in the hotel, a scavenger hunt with a prize upon completion and a welcome amenity. Our ‘Camp Counselors’ will call in advance to help you plan your adventure with us.

Package Details:

  • 15% discount on deluxe accommodations (minimum two-night stay)
  • Complimentary breakfast for kids 12 and under from the buffet or children’s menu
  • $10 gift card for kids to use anywhere in the hotel
  • Camp newsletter with scavenger hunt that is redeemable for a merit badge and ‘dirt & worms’ dessert upon completion
  • Pre-call from camp counselor (concierge)
  • Welcome amenity with s’mores-flavored marshmallows, collapsible water bottle and a lanyard kit inside a cinch-up backpack

A camp concierge camp to our room to bring the kids all of the information they needed to get started including backpacks, water bottles, scavenger hunt information of course, their very own gift cards which they couldn't wait to spend. We took off within 10 minutes to start the scavenger hunt.

The perfect ending to our evening was the “dirt & worms” dessert had that evening at the restaurant by all three kids. They absolutely loved everything about Camp Omni.

My kids had an amazing time during the weekend and loved all of the kids only designed activities. We all had such a wonderful experience. We cannot wait to go back.
