Minecraft is something that has been a part of my household since it first came out. My children discovered Minecraft almost immediately and it has been a love affair ever since. All three of my kids play and I love to see them helping each other out.

The point of Minecraft seems simple: build practically anything you can imagine. Some kids recreate famous pieces of architecture, others express their creativity through grand designs. Minecraft is an open-ended “sandbox” that doesn’t come with instructions, so the gameplay is confusing — but that’s what makes it irresistible. Kids are forced to explore — first in the game, then out of it.

My husband and I have even tried playing a few times. We love it just as much as our kids. Building really is so fun!
