I participated in an In-Home Party Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Mattel. I received product samples to facilitate my party and a promotional item to thank me for participating.
I was a Barbie lover growing up. I had the first dreamhouse. It had an elevator that was operated by a string that I pulled. I thought that it was just about the coolest thing ever. My mother would get us the limited edition Barbie dolls every year for Christmas.
My daughters have grown up with Barbie as well. My mother continues to buy them holiday Barbie dolls each year and we foster their love of Barbie. I can honestly say that there is NOT a Barbie movie that my kids haven't seen. They love Barbie that much!
ABOUT BARBIE
Created by Ruth Handler, Barbie was introduced to the world in 1959 (in blonde and brunette dolls). Since her introduction over 50 years ago, she’s appeared in movies, TV shows, dreamhouses, and yes, pink convertibles. Every product has a place in the Barbie universe, from beach-going Barbie to vanities to digital activities.
BARBIE AND THE SECRET DOOR
Just in time for back-to-school, Barbie stars as Alexa in an all new adventure Barbie and the Secret Door. In this magical, musical adventure, a shy princess would rather read than perform her royal duties. Join Alexa as she discovers a door to wonderful land where she makes new friends and finds the courage to stand up for what’s right.
We hosted a Barbie and the Secret Door party for my daughter and a few of her friends. To get ready, we came up with a special menu of pink lemonade Barbie floats, mini quiches and pink lemonade cupcakes. We also made Barbie pink headbands for the girls who attended. See the picture above!
The girls sat down right away to watch the movie and they were enthralled from the moment it started. They wanted to watch it again right after but we were on the the games. We played Barbie Bingo and then had snacks. The girls then played the rest of the games after eating.
The parents liked the Barbie movie as well. I loved that it was the perfect topic since we recently started back to school. I also liked that they talked about making friends. The entire party was a success.
