I am someone addicted to technology. I use it constantly to do as much as possible. I am always searching, reading and learning online about pretty much an topic.
Technology helps me find out about things like health, wellness and even public health concerns.
When trying to find the best technology, people (me included)need to choose something that fits easily into their lives. I have to be able to have something on the got that is up-to-date as well. Whether I am starting an email with a physician or using a fitness app that tracks workouts, technology can be a great and convenient motivator. My husband and I compete constantly while tracking our steps and this is a huge motivator!
Now the Aetna Foundation’s Digital Health Initiative supports the use of digital health technology among vulnerable and minority populations and addresses public health concerns.
ABOUT THE AETNA DIGITAL HEALTH INITIATIVE
From neighborhood churches and community center programs to on-the-go apps for personalized disease management, technology is central to how patients track and monitor their health and wellness today.
Aetna Foundation’s Digital Health Initiative supports projects that promote healthy choices in vulnerable and minority populations. As one in three cell phone owners have used their phone to access health information (Pew Research Center), digital health technology offers a powerful way to reach people where they are with real-time health solutions that fit easily into their daily lives.
This past February, the Aetna Foundation announced more than $1.2 million in grants to support the use of digital health technology, including mobile health or mHealth, among vulnerable and minority populations. The grants are part of a larger $4 million, three-year digital health commitment from the Aetna Foundation for the implementation and evaluation of technology innovations to help address public health concerns.
