Packing the Perfect Back to School Lunch
Packing the Perfect Back to School Lunch #GetDisney One of my favorite things to do for my kids is make their lunches. Ok not really. We make them together and one day I am...
As a busy wife and mother, alone time is something I'm sorely lacking. It seems like no matter how hard I try, I just can't get the peace and quiet I deserve. Not that I'm complaining, not really anyways, because I love my children and husband but even just a few minutes of peace would be better than nothing at all. Recently I've found myself making excuses to go to the grocery store just so I can have an hour to myself without the clamoring of children or the constant questions from my husband. When I was a single gal with no husband and no children, I took silence for granted. Now, I crave the peace and quiet more than anything.
While I don't get much quiet time during daylight hours, I do manage to slip in some quiet time for at least an hour before bedtime..sometimes, if I'm not too tired. It's during this time that I'll finish laundry that needs sorting, do the dishes, clean up the latest messes on the floor where the kids have played or sometimes I have nothing to do and will pour myself a glass of wine to enjoy while I read a chapter or two of my current book. The book is optional for my quiet time but sometimes it feels like the wine is not. I'm sure some of my fellow mama's can certainly sympathize with that!
At 14 Hands Winery they know how important a good glass of wine is. Inspired by the wild horses found in Seattle, Washington, 14 Hands is a wine borne from the hills. 14 Hands draws their inspiration from a time when mustangs were able to run free in the hills of eastern Washington State. These magnificent creatures, measuring 14 hands high, would travel down the hills each day to drink from the Colombian river and graze along its riverbank. Known for their strength and tenacity, mustangs became known for their endurance and spirit. The unique and beautiful landscape of these hills are what gave the mustangs their strength and spirit; the sand and gravel soil also require the grapevines to be strong and determined, to grow the grapes needed for 14 Hands wines.
In addition to bringing you the best wines, 14 Hands Winery now has their own brand new winery. You can visit in person and enjoy the wine for yourself in their tasting room. Designed to highlight the unique history of Washington wines and the Horse Heaven Hills, this beautiful new winery and tasting room features indoor and outdoor seating areas for the pleasure of its guests and is also home to a lovely tasting bar as well as a unique barrel room. 14 Hands new facility also proudly showcases an expanded collection of 14 hands.

14 Hands Winery graciously hosted us as their guest at the 2016 Kentucky Derby. This once in a lifetime experience was absolutely amazing! We are so thankful.
Oh how I love visiting wineries. It’s so fun to try new wines.
I don’t drink much wine, but when I do, I like to try new kinds. I want to check out 14 Hands Winery.
I am not a big wine drinker, but I would enjoy visiting the winery. I will keep this in mind if I am ever in the area.
Ohh this sounds like an interesting winery – I can imagine that a few people I know would love a bottle as a gift. x
I’m not a wine drinker, but my husband loves a glass of wine at night after we put the kids to bed. I’ll have to let him know about 14 hands!
Nothing beats relaxing with a glass of wine after a long day. I will be sure to keep an eye out for the 14 Hands brand.
I have never been to a winery! This one sounds amazing!
It would be nice to try out some of their wines. I’m trying to understand more of the subtle differences between them.
How fun that they hosted you at the Kentucky Derby! I have not heard of 14 Hands wine but will definitely check it out. I hope it’s in my area
I’ll add this to my list. This looks like an amazing winery to check out.
I haven’t visited a winery before and I am looking forward in visiting one. Looks like you have a great day!
It’s good that they also have their own in-house wine. That makes everything else much more special since they know how tastes go.
I want to go to this place, it looks so interesting but I don’t like wine that much, I only drink wine for special occasions.
If you don;t like wine – have a beer! Yakima Valley also grows the most hops in the US so how about a beer? There are tons of fun breweries close by. And ciders too!
This looks like a fun outing.
We do like visiting wineries.
I love that you have shared about our wonderful wines in Washington. One small problem, the wild horses were not in Seattle but outside of Prosser and Yakima in the Horse Heaven Hills.
Love how your blog is put together! Great topics too!
I haven’t visited a winery in a few years. I think that it’s always such a nice experience.
Looks like a good wine. Love that label!
i am growing into loving wineries more and more. Thanks for introducing 14 hands winery and maybe one day I can visit!
What a nice collection of wines. I have never heard of 14 Hands before.
