I am one of those people who makes certain everything is turned off before leaving the house. When we travel, I am always sure that something is going to happen to our house, such as a fire or gas leak. What worries me the most is that we wouldn’t know and everything would be destroyed.
Did you know that in 2013, there were 369,500 home fires in the U.S., according to the National Fire Protection Association?
Hurricanes, floods, snow storms, and tornadoes are all naturally occurring incidents that residents of the United States have to fear during the course of a calendar year, but the one that most folks don’t prepare for and that worries me each year, is the potential for house fires. There are so many ways to incur the wrath and destruction of house fires that we homeowners don’t take into consideration as we go about our daily lives. In 2013 there were 369,500 house fires; it’s staggering to think of how many house fires there have been in the years since.
Lives, belongings and family keepsakes aren’t the only things swallowed by flames each year either, a lot of people fail to take into consideration the loss of their other family members as well: each year 500,000 pets are affected and nearly 40,000 are killed.
The effects of house fires are devastating but there are ways we can minimize the risks.
Leeo Smart Alert is a new way to make sure your house is safe from fire or carbon monoxide danger while you’re away from home. Now that winter is upon us, and is the season with the most house fires, it has never been a better time to look into the benefits of the Leeo Smart Alert. Unfortunately the holidays can also lead to increased fire hazards, since a lot of meals are being prepared in the kitchen and scented candles are used to freshen up the home while creating the perfect holiday scene for family/friends.
The Leeo Smart Alert is an easy-to-use, plug-in device that monitors your home for smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and notifies you on your smartphone if they sound. It’s compatible with iPhone 4S or later and is also compatible with Android. The Leeo Smart Alert app is free for download and can be found in the App Store and on Google Play.
With everything you have going on during the busy holiday season, you can now rest assured that your home is safe while you’re on a winter holiday or just out running errands and picking up relatives from the airport.
With the Leeo Smart Alert device you don't have to worry about it out of sync with your existing smoke detectors or carbon monoxide alerts, it works in sync with any device you already have installed in your home. It's designed to alert you you on your mobile device if your alarms are sounding while you're out of the home. With everything you have going on during the busy holiday season you can now rest assured that your home is safe while you're out running errands and picking up relatives from the airport. Your Smart Alert device also is capable of automatically calling and sending notifications to not only you but your existing emergency contact device as well!
Worried about installation and set up? The Leeo Smart Alert device is easy to install and even easier to use — simply plug the device into your desired electrical outlet, download the app to register your home and alarms and set up your emergency contact list. Setup takes less than 10 minutes – you simply test all your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, to verify that the Smart Alert recognizes them, and that’s all there is to it, easy-peasy. You can enter your family, friends or neighbors as emergency contacts and if your alarms go off and you are unable to respond to Leeo’s phone call or push notifications, it will go down your contact list until someone responds.
One of the best features this nifty device has, in my opinion, is that it can act as a nightlight as well as a life-saving device. With 16 million brilliant colors to choose from, it’s a perfect device to double as a nightlight in your little one’s nursery, bedroom or even in the bathroom for overnight visits.
It’s also capable of monitoring the temperature and humidity in your home so you can be sure your home is safe and comfortable for pets and family members.

My husband is a retried fire fighter, so he is all over our smoke detectors. I need to tell him about this one!
I didn’t realize they made a device like this! I’ve always made sure our smoke detectors were functional, but I never thought about what would happen if we were out of town. I’m going to have to look into this. I never thought about making sure my smoke detectors could alert me on my phone!
So important to have smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the house. They are the things that can save your family from a fire, smoke or gas. We just checked ours and changed batteries with the time change.
You can never be too safe when it comes to your home! This would definitely give me some peace of mind so I could know if anything bad was happening at home while I was away. Especially since we have gas heating, it would be nice to keep tabs on the CO monitor.
Having a fire in my home is one of my biggest fears. I will have to check into this. We are forever pulling down our fire alarms when the batteries go dead and forgetting about them. We need to start being more proactive. It is also great that it is also a carbon monoxide detector.
This is an awesome safety measure. I’d feel very comfortable knowing the Leeo could provide me with alerts anytime.
This sounds great. I have often wondered if we needed some sort of monitor to check on things for us.
My grandpa was a firefighter so we have had safety drilled into our heads ever since we were little. I think he definitely would have approved of Leeo!
A hi-tech way to save a life! Everyone needs this!
Wow. these is really great. I’m going to check this out.
I’ve literally never even thought about CD. Now I’m a bit freaked out and want the Leeo asap! We only have our normal smoke detectors and we also have an in-home security system installed.
We have smoke detectors in our home installed, but there are some pretty huge gaps between them. I would love to be able to install a few more so simply to reassure myself that my family is safe from fire and carbon monoxide.
The Leeo Smart Alert is a great idea. I will have to get one for my house. This would be a great gift for your loved ones.
Wow this sounds awesome. We live in a complex so they take care of all this for us and come once a month to test them. However, I still check them all the time. This looks great and like an extra peace of mind!
I had no idea they made something like this! It’s such a fantastic idea for all home owners.
I always worry about the batteries in my smoke alarm not working. This is such a smart idea, and love the design!
This is a really smart device to have in your home. We tend to over look detecing for carbon monoxide.
This is great! I hate when traditional smoke alarms run low on battery power and make that annoying loud sound! (it invariably always happens at night when everyone is in bed!), plug in is way better! Thanks for the neat giveaway too, I entered.
