The BMW X3 was first introduced in 2004 and is the only BMW that has seen cosmetic changes every year since it was introduced. In 2011 the X3 was fully redesigned. This vehicle is the perfect car for someone who needs an SUV but doesn’t want to give up the luxury and sportiness of other BMW sedans. We hope that this 2011 BMW X3 SUV review post inspires you.
The 2011 BMW X3 has been remodeled inside to more closely match the latest look of other BMW automobiles and the electronics have been upgraded to include BMW’s latest versions. Overall the vehicle is just slightly larger. The suspension has been revamped to provide better balance as well as a smoother ride than previous model years.

The X3 comes in two different trim levels. This compact SUV is designed to carry five occupants. The engine is a 3.0L 6-cylinder model that provides plenty of torque and horsepower in either trim level. The transmission is an 8-speed with manual shift mode and all-wheel-drive.
Standard safety features included on any model of the X3 include antilock disc brakes with automatic brake drying which is helpful in rainy weather. Airbags on the front and sides of the front seats are standard as well as side curtain airbags the entire length of the vehicle. Stability control and hill descent control are also standard.
A unique safety feature of the X3 and all BMWs is the xDrive. This system can instantly detect any slippage in one of the wheels and redirect the power from the wheel that’s slipping onto the wheels with the most traction.
The BMW X3 has been voted “Four-Wheel Drive Car of the Year 2011” by the international automobile magazine ‘Auto Bild Allrad.’ It was also voted “Off-Road Vehicle of the Year 2011” by ‘Off Road’ magazine. The IIHS or Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the X3 the best rating of “good” for overall crash testing ratings. This includes both frontal and side-impact crashes.
The 2011 X3 is fun to drive and it looks so sporty. We hope that this 2011 BMW X3 SUV review post inspires you. Happy driving!
