Defining “Entry-Level Luxury” is challenging, involving factors like cabin space, sporty themes, and affordability. The 2013 Lexus IS 350 impresses with its performance and features, offering a compelling option in the luxury sedan segment.
Lexus has continually redefined the luxury sedan segment with its IS lineup since its inception. The 2013 IS 350 now features an upgraded navigation system with HD radio and Smartphone apps. While not as aggressive as the track-focused IS F, the IS 350 boasts a potent 306-horsepower V6 engine. It offers an F Sport Package for enhanced handling and styling, along with an all-wheel-drive option for diverse driving conditions.
The 2013 Lexus IS 350 is classified as a “small luxury sedan” available in rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive trim levels and comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, xenon headlamps, LED running lights, heated mirrors, sunroof, keyless ignition/entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, eight-way power front seats, leather upholstery, auto-dimming rearview mirror, Safety Connect telematics system, Bluetooth phone/audio connectivity and a 13-speaker sound system with six-CD changer, satellite radio, auxiliary audio jack, and iPod/USB interface. Upgrading to the IS 350 AWD(all-wheel-drive) nets heated front seats.
The 2013 Lexus IS350 Navigation System Package includes advanced features like a navigation system, Bluetooth phonebook downloading, a rearview camera, voice commands, HD radio with iTunes tagging, and real-time traffic, weather, sports, and fuel prices. Additionally, Lexus Enform enhanced telematics with a Smartphone apps suite is part of this package. Customers can also opt for a 14-speaker Mark Levinson surround sound system as an addition to the Navigation System pack.
The Lexus IS350 distinguishes itself from competitors with a range of premium upgrades not commonly found in its segment. For instance, the Premium Plus Package includes heated and ventilated front seats, wood trim, and the Luxury Package offers 18-inch wheels (on RWD models), auto-dimming outside mirrors, automatic wipers, a power rear sunshade, driver and front passenger memory functions, and a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. Additionally, front and rear parking sensors are available as optional extras.
Perhaps most exciting about the 2013 IS 350 is the availability of its F Sport Package on RWD models which adds dark-finish 18-inch F Sport wheels, grille inserts, front and rear spoilers, a sport-tuned suspension, and heated F Sport seats with microfiber inserts and leather bolsters.
The 2013 Lexus IS350 comes with standard safety features such as antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags, and a Safety Connect system. This traditional telematics service includes automatic collision notification, a stolen-vehicle locator, and an emergency assistance button. According to tests by outlets like Edmunds, the 2013 Lexus IS350 with the F Sport Package stopped from 60 miles per hour in 114 feet. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety also awarded the vehicle a perfect “Good” rating for its performance in both frontal-offset and side-impact tests.
The IS 350 is known for its sharp handling, comfortable ride, luxurious interior, and long list of standard features. However, it was also criticized for its small back seat and lack of cargo space. It is a popular choice for buyers who want a sporty and luxurious driving experience. We hope that this 2013 Lexus IS 350 review post inspires you. Happy driving!
