Every woman loves the luxurious feeling of silky smooth skin after using a soothing body scrub. Here are 7 Simple Homemade Body Scrubs that you can create from items likely already in your pantry. Not only are they soothing to your skin but some are aromatic and offer aromatherapy benefits that will soothe your soul as well.

Take a few hours this weekend and play with the recipes below to create your favorite. These also make excellent gifts for friends, family and teachers during the holidays.



Mix together in large bowl equal parts Epsom Salt, Seas Salt and Baking Soda. Add Peppermint oil drops until you reach desired aroma. (For mix of ½ cup each ingredient and use 5-7 drops oil). Mix or shake ingredients together and store in airtight container until ready to use.


Mix together in large bowl 1 Cup Sugar, ¼ Cup Instant Coffee Grounds, 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon until well blended. Gradually pour in 1/3 cup Olive Oil or Coconut Oil mixing until coated well. Store in an airtight container until ready to use.


Mix together in large bowl 1 Ripe Banana Mashed, ¼ Cup Granulated Sugar, 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract, 1 Tablespoon Olive or Grapeseed Oil until well mixed. Use immediately.


Mix together ½ Cup Brown Sugar, ½ Cup Granulated Sugar, 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract and 1/3 Cup Coconut Oil in bowl. Store in airtight Container until ready to use.


Mix together 1 Cup Sea Salt, Zest of 1 Lemon, 1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice and ¼ Cup Olive or Grapeseed Oil together in large bowl. Store in Airtight Container until ready to use.


Mix together ½ Cup Epsom Salt, ½ Cup Sea Salt, ½ Cup Baby Oil in large bowl and store in airtight container until ready to use.


Mix together 1 Cup Sugar, Zest of 1 Orange, 1 Tablespoon Orange Juice, 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract and 1/3 Cup Grapeseed Oil in large bowl and store in airtight container until ready to use.

As you can see it is easy to make simple homemade body scrubs with items you already have around your home. Some of the scrubs are perishable and others can be stored for an extended length of time with no ill effects. Those including fresh juices and zest should be used within a few days of mixing for best results. Enjoy these for yourself or treat your friends to a truly simple homemade body scrub this year.
