The most visible of all tourist attractions in St. Louis is the Gateway Arch. The Arch is 630 feet high and 630 feet wide at the base. There is an underground museum between the legs of the monument and an observation chamber at the top. From this lofty vantage point, sightseeing is excellent, with the city sprawling to the west and the mighty Mississippi River to the east.
Beer
Beer is synonymous with St. Louis, and the Anheuser-Busch Brewery has been a fixture in the city for more than a hundred years. Bud Light and Budweiser are the two best-selling beers in America, and tourists can see where these beers are brewed by taking a tour of the brewery. Each year, 350,000 people do just that. Many of these tourists will also enjoy viewing the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdale horses. These 2,000-pound animals are one of the enduring symbols of the brewery.
Take a Gamble
A pair of casinos, Lumiere Place and Harrah's will provide a vacation within a vacation. Each offers casino gaming, entertainment, and dining options similar to Atlantic City and Las Vegas.
Go to the Zoo
The St. Louis Zoo occupies another slot on the “things to do” list. Animals on display include an assortment of large cats, and bears, including the endangered Spectacled Bear.

Sports fans will have little trouble getting their fix in STL. At any time of year, one of the three pro sports teams will be busy attempting to bring a championship home.
- Rams – The Rams are a member of the National Football League and play eight regular season home games each season. The Rams are in the NFC West.
- St. Louis Blues – A member of the National Hockey League since 1967, the Blues play 41 home games during the regular season and count Brett Hull, Chris Pronger, and Tony Twist among their former players.
- Cardinals – St. Louis is a big baseball town, and these redbirds, the Cards are among the most competitive and popular teams in the National League.
Dining Options for All
Tourists will have no trouble finding good food in STL. One of the more famous barbecue locations in the country, this town even has a style of BBQ ribs named after it. And, nothing tops off a meal of St. Louis-style ribs like a trip to the Crown Candy Kitchen, where one of their famous malts and shakes is calling your name.
