This Fire Up Summer with Smithfield Craft Collection Yuengling Traditional Lager Bratwurst post is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Smithfield®. The opinions and text are all mine.
It's that time of year. The kids are out of school, the sun is setting late, and the pool beckons. It's summertime, and in our household that means it is grilling season. This is a time of year that we look forward to in our family. We use our grill at least 2-3 times a week during the summer, and we love hosting grill parties with friends and family. Great food and conversation is shared as we all enjoy lazy summer evenings. Memories are made that our children will remember for the rest of their lives. Needless to say, we take grilling seriously. We hope that you enjoy this Fire Up Summer with Smithfield® Craft Collection™ Yuengling® Traditional Lager Bratwurst post.
The star of any evening spent grilling is of course, the food. Now over the course of a summer, we will grill pretty much everything that can be grilled. There will be steak, chicken, and seafood. We will grill our potatoes and vegetables. Heck, we even grill fruit. One item that always seems to make it onto our grill in the summer is bratwurst, and over the past few summers the bratwurst of choice has been the Smithfield Craft Collection Yuengling Traditional Larger Bratwurst. I personally like this bratwurst because it is infused with Yuengling Traditional Lager, and that flavor really comes through. The earthiness of the hops adds a depth and complexity to the brat that is just divine.
Smithfield makes the Craft Collection Yuengling Traditional Lager Bratwurst with premium cuts of pork and their own blend of sweet and savory spices. They taste great, and are easy to grill as well. Simply set up your grill with a medium-low heat and throw them on. They take about 15-20 minutes to cook, and all you have to do is remember to turn them every 4-5 minutes. Pretty simple. They come off the grill super juicy, and we like to serve them in toasted buns with a little peperonata sauce that is infused with Yuengling Traditional Lager. This makes for a pretty simple and easy meal that everyone in the household looks forward to and loves.
Those perfectly grilled Smithfield Craft Collection Yuengling Traditional Larger Bratwurst absolutely beg for the perfect cold beverage. Now to my mind, when you are grilling and eating brats, there is only one possible beverage that is acceptable; beer. And as these bratwurst are actually made with Yuengling Traditional Lager, they pair perfectly with that beer. Yuengling Traditional Lager is the flagship beer of America's oldest brewery. Located in Pottsville, PA, Yuengling has been in uninterrupted operation since 1829. These guys were making beer back when Andrew Jackson was president.
Yuengling Traditional Lager has a rich amber color and it pairs wonderfully with grilled foods. Made with roasted caramel malt and a combination of cluster and cascade hops, this subtly sweet and balanced beer is very easy drinking and the absolute perfect pairing to the Smithfield Craft Collection Yuengling Traditional Lager Bratwurst. Both Smithfield and Yuengling come from towns that are rich with tradition and heritage. With this comes a deep appreciation for quality, flavor and family; making Smithfield and Yuengling a perfect combination.
You can find both the Smithfield Craft Collection Yuengling Traditional Lager Bratwurst and the Yuengling Traditional Lager at your local Kroger. You will find the brats in the meat case and the beer in the beer isle. Don't wait too long though…while the beer is always available, the bratwurst will disappear with grilling season. We hope that this Fire Up Summer with Smithfield Craft Collection Yuengling Traditional Lager Bratwurst post inspires you.
