7 Tips for Getting Kids to Eat Healthy Food
As a parent, getting my kids to eat healthy food is something that I struggle with on a daily basis. I am pretty lucky for the most part in that my kids LOVE fruits....
I am an insomniac. I stay up late almost every single night. As a writer, that is when my house is most peaceful. It is quiet, relaxing and I tend to get a lot of work done.
However, there are times when I absolutely have to sleep and because my sleeping habits are so bad, I actually have trouble when I actually want to get to sleep. So I occasionally need some help.
I recently headed over to my local Walgreens pharmacy to see what they would recommend for me. I wanted to chat with the pharmacist, tell her what was going on and see what she told me to do.
What is great about Walgreens is that you can get help in the store or even online where they have 24/7 chat available.
The pharmacist was busy when I first arrived but she was able to assist me within one minute. I explained to her what was happening and that my inability to get to sleep was really affecting my life. I asked her what she recommended.
She asked me a few questions such as:
Are you looking for a short-term or long-term sleep solution?
I told her long-term.
Are you limiting your caffeine intake before bedtime?
I told her that I was.
What have you taken before? And did it help?
I explained that I had tried a few things but I hadn't really found anything yet that I really liked or that worked well.
The pharmacist recommended that I take Benadryl on a daily basis along with a daily dose of melatonin as well. She explained that both would take about 3-7 to really begin working and that I should take them on a daily basis.
She pointed to the display in the pharmacy area and said that I could get the Benadryl there. Then she directed me to Aisle 10 to pick up the melatonin. Since I had the sales flyer, I noticed that melatonin was on sale.
I have taken the melatonin and Benadryl for about a week and it works well for me. I have been able to sleep when I want to sleep and it is great. I am much more refreshed and able to function.
Speaking to the pharmacist at Walgreens was very easy to do. I found her advice to be trustworthy and since she spoke to me at the consultation window, I felt that our conversation was confidential. I would definitely ask the pharmacist questions again. It was very easy to find out exactly what I needed to know.

I have been wanting to give Melatonin a try. I think I will now. It sounds like we have the same sleeping issues.
Benadryl is my go-to sleep aid. It has been for many years. I also have incorporated melatonin in my nighttime routne in the past, which worked great. However, as I am currently breastfeeding, I have stopped the melatonin….
I used to take melatonin for trips to Europe.
It comes in liquid form, I buy Dream Water at Walgreens, it works wonderfully, but try half a bottle at first.

I’d try melotonin, but I wouldn’t want to take benadryl on a regular basis.
Pharmacists are so smart in knowing what products really work! I could save myself a lot of time and money if I started utilizing this service.
I like that the pharmacists coached you on how long to use the medicine before you could expect consistent results. I like instant gratification and get frustrated easily.
