How to Keep Feet Moisturized
How to Keep Feet Moisturized Your feet work hard every day of your life, carrying you wherever you want to go and sometimes we don't take the best care of our feet. And in...
If you’re a workout girlie that cares about her skin, you may be wondering how you can keep your skin looking great, even with all the grime and sweat that you get after a good workout. Whether you work out outside or at a gym, the reality is that exercise can do a number on our skin. Not to worry. Here are some great tips for that post-workout glow, even when you sweat it out:
If you love a good run outdoors or playing sports with friends as a form of exercise, your number one tool in your line of defense to wreck your skin is sunscreen. Sunscreen isn’t only good for maintaining that great glow and flawless complexion now, but it can aid you in keeping your skin looking beautiful in years to come. It doesn’t matter what type of sunscreen you choose, just make sure it’s a non-toxic sunscreen that can keep your skin protected while you get your workout in outside.
If you want to do your skin the most favors, avoid using makeup before your workout. While we all like to look great at the gym, makeup and sweat can lead to skin blemishes and acne, if you’re prone to it. It can make it more challenging to keep your skin looking flawless and clean and plus, a mix of sweat and foundation just doesn’t look great in the moment, either.
Let your skin sweat bare so that you can have a better canvas for cleaning it later on. If you must wear makeup, because hey we like to look our best, try to use lightweight foundation that is designed for your skin’s texture.
When you get home from the gym or your run, use a lightweight cleanser to wash off the sweat and dirt. It doesn’t have to be anything strong, and in fact, it shouldn’t be. But a light cleanse can help make your skin feel cleaner and get rid of any grime that you may have exposed it to during your workout. If you have things to do after your workout, just make sure that you get it washed before you go to bed. Talk to your dermatologist about any tips they may have to help you keep your skin looking great, even as a die-hard gym rat.
One of best things you can do for your body and to maintain healthy and radiant skin is to drink enough water. Staying hydrated is much more important to our health than we give it credit for. Definitely make sure to bring a water bottle to your workout and make sure to stay hydrated throughout the day, so that you can replenish after sweating it out.
Electrolytes aren’t a bad idea if you’re looking to add some extra hydration to help you out when you’ve begun to work out more. It’s always a good idea to drink enough water and get enough electrolytes.
For the gym gals, exfoliating your skin is your best friend. However, don’t do it immediately after sweating. Instead, incorporate into your nightly skincare. Additionally, you want to avoid doing it every day as it can dry your skin out and isn’t needed every day. Deep cleaning of your skin, so to speak, is necessary. But you don’t have to do it every day. Try doing it every few days or whenever you feel like your skin needs some extra love.
From sunscreen to face wash, taking care of your skin after a good sweat at the gym is always a good idea. You’ll be amazed at how great your skin can look after some TLC and sweat.
