May is Better Sleep Month – 6 Tips for Better Sleep

I am not certain that I can remember the last time I really had a great night's sleep. Unfortunately, as an insomniac writer plus a mother of three, sleep is something that I continuously crave yet rarely get enough of.

I am constantly looking for ways to make our bedroom more of a haven rather than an office, a tv watching center, a laundry station and so much more than a bedroom.

Mattress Giant wants everyone to get a better sleep. Here are 6 Tips for Better Sleep:

·         Keep a sleep diary for at least 7 days, recording when you sleep, wake & eat to help your doc pinpoint causes of poor sleep

·         Spending at least 15 minutes a day outside in sunlight can help restore the body’s natural sleep-wake cycle

·         Make sure to finish a heavy meal at least four hours before bedtime

·         Before bed, try some slow stretching to gear your body into a slowed, relaxed state

·         Always check your room for potential sleep disturbances, including light shining through the drapes

·         Bedrooms that are cool, dark, quiet and comfortable are best for quality sleep
