I have seen the movie over 100 times and so have my kids. We can all pretty much recite the entire thing. We know the words to every song. We sing them even when the movie isn’t on.
When I heard that the Broadway play of MAMMA MIA! was coming to Atlanta, I knew that I would be there in the audience no matter what. And so would my kids.
Since it was showing on my birthday, we decided to make it a family affair.
The sets were well done and it really gave the feeling of being on a Greek island. The sound was a little off on this night. On one song, the actor’s microphone went out completely so you could barely hear him. If they get these sound issues worked out, the play will be fabulous!
This play is not very similar to the movie although the storyline is the same. The sets are different and the live play does not go into as many details as the movie does. There is a difference.
I thoroughly enjoyed it. My kids 8, 6 and 4 were a little confused and they definitely prefer the movie to the play but we all had fun.
